For anyone that has commented, or seen this, and lives in the US. We do have the power to make this happen. Copy this picture and send to your elected representatives. That is what they are there for.

Apparently, VA medical centers have been doing this for a few years now. This is where I now work.

I would love that to give me more accurate carb count!

You could estimate the protein from the calories, probably as close as reality is to standards. Glad it multiplied the bacon slices before the totals. Would be a good addition at all eating joints, with appropriate time to implement. Cash registers ain't cheap.

Many restaurants in SoCal now how calories on the menus and it is reported that it has not made a bit of difference. Many people don’t care.

This info should be on every menu and self serve food bar in the country. Restaurants in our area are starting to post calories but we need 'the complete story' to make educated decisions. Seldom do I see carbs, fat or other nutritional info listed, only calories.

It is not the restaurant that needs to be emBarrassed, it's the people who eat that food. Many places now post calories but really, do you need a piece of paper to tell you that a smashed cinnamon roll pancake with carmel syrup is probably not a good choice but it is a popular item on the menu of a chain restaurant.
