Fatboy199's Journal, 27 March 2018

Yesterday, I was completely fatigued. Ate very well but still gained 1/10 of a point. Wanted to cry but instead laughed at the absurdity of it all. Was starving last night and I ate a small dinner salad with a splash of vinegar so that I didn't attempt to go to sleep hungry.
Woke up heavier....huh? Ate under 2000 calories for the day for the 3rd day in a row but still can't lose. I am drinking twice as much water and I find I am not eliminating it as much as I should or having normal bowel movements either so maybe it''s my body adjusting to this definite change of course?
I know I will have success with time. My dress shirts are fitting better and I am not in as much pain when I bend so there are multiple benefits to eating clean.

Stay the course, invest in myself and keep the faith.

it could be water retention counterbalancing your weight, you most likely are still losing weight but the water retention is making it appear as if you’re not.

I am thinking the same thing. I didn't balloon to 308lbs overnight so this journey is a definite process that requires discipline and patience. I appreciate your feedback, thank you.

Weight fluctuations happen, they are normal. what matters is that u pay attention to where the scale goes most. For instance if u lose 2.3 pound n u gain .3oz u still lost 2 lbs so ...then u lose 1.5oz n u gained .5 u still lost 2+1= 😊 And that’s basically how it’s worked for me 😉

I feel your pain. I am going through something very similar. I know my body will get used to my diet, I just keep telling myself to give it time. Thought about buying Colace... not sure if I should but think it may help. Even if I'm going 2 steps forward, 1 step back, at least it's still progress and it's a hell of a lot better than how it was.

Are you walking in addition to cutting calories?

Keep at it Fatboy! Don't know how much water you drank before but your body probably still thinks it has to store it. Once it becomes accustomed to the fact that water is plentiful, it will let go of it in larger and larger amounts. Carrie V.- Stay the heck away from stool softeners and laxatives. That's not a diet, it's self-inflicted damage! Your body loses it's ability to eliminate if you force it with chemicals. Your colon muscles actually lose the ability to innervate.

If you are noticing a difference in the way your clothes fit, you are making progress. Sometimes it just takes a little while for the scale to catch up! Hand in there!!!

Stevetherunner, I am but I am limited by severe arthritis in my right knee. I spent my life in a gym and I was a nationally ranked softball player for many years. Unfortunately, all of my years of being physical are actually a detriment now. I am hoping with time the loss of body weight gives my overall aches and pains the relief they need to be more active.

ewinsanchez and everyone else, THANK YOU for the responses. I Definitely appreciate all the support. 2 weeks ago, I thought I was going to die while at a conference in Seattle. This last 10 days has been so refreshing. Hugs and best wishes to you all.

I know how frustrating that can be, but it takes time to show. Scales are liars, and they are a roadblock on a real weight loss journey. Measure, and pay attention to how things fit and how you feel, thats the REAL way to tell. We are all here for you!! You can do this!! Its ok to cry, its ok to get frustrated, but never get so upset that you give up. I have done that too many times in my life.

I went through everything you just mentioned the first time I started this weight loss journey. Just keep at it. Your body will adjust and it will start letting go. I use a chart for my water intake and I also have a water tracking app. The chart was very helpful because I had no idea how much water I needed. Just do a google search for (how much water should I drink to lose weight). When you get used to drinking all that water you will find yourself drinking more than recommended.

Hang in there! FYI I didn't lose at 2000 so had to go to 1500 and then started losing...
