Draglist's Journal, 24 February 2018

Woke at 218.4, down 1.6 after Fasting Friday. My blood ketones were 2.7 at noon, which shows great ketosis. I am trying InstaKetone protein bars by Julian Bakery. I just ate one and will wait 30 minutes and take another ketone measurement. Will be interesting to see if it bumps up the number a bit further. UPDATE: Measured blood ketones again and they were 2.5. About all I can say (assuming that I allowed enough time for the bar to take effect) is that it did not significantly decrease my ketosis! I am going to continue the fast (except for that bar) for longer... will string it out to 48 hours. UPDATE: Denise is making a pork roast and cabbage in the Instant Pot, so we will eat that at about 6:30 pm. Day two of my Fasting Friday and I only ate the InstaKetone bar as an experiment. No hunger whatsoever during the entire day (although looking at all the great Fatsecret photos was a challenge!) I may do a 48 hour fast every week on Fridays and Saturdays (if I stay home). Looking forward to seeing the weight, body fat percentage, and blood ketone readings before dinner.

Nice! What ketone meter do you use? I’ve been searching around for a cheap one

Bill just curious what are your blood K readings suppose to be? Not my line of expertise? Fortunately I am healthy as,a horse for the most part and I know this current diet will have my numbers in really check. My annual exam is in June
