Klynn82's Journal, 18 January 2018

I dont know why I get so down on myself!! I was looking at my list view of my daily food entries and got discouraged. There are days that my carbs are higher than 20g and I am trying so hard. I know that its silly because a month ago my lunch would have consisted of a 20piece mcnugget, lg fry and a lg Dr Pepper and just the fries have more carbs than I have eaten in one day in just one meal.

Its just hard to see the finish line right now...

Cute pic. I have a question, were you down on yourself a month ago when you ate what you wanted? Also, so what about the finish line, live each day, each moment in time, don't worry about the finish line, and don't worry about the past. I don't like to be discouraged: I share the good stuff I do and don't share a lot of the bad stuff. I have a made a decision to attempt to remain positive. I feel better being optimistic than focusing on the negative.

@GingerDog I have always been down on myself. Food was a comfort, it was a security blanket because I could control that, even if I was eating crap that wasnt good for me, it was my choice. I have always been the "strength" for my whole family. I have always had to wear a smile and a positive word when their worlds were falling apart. I was never able to air my fears, frustrations, hurts, so I ate. I ate and ate. No, I didnt feel good about myself. I finally see that I can be who I wanted to be when I was a little girl, I can be beautiful, and buy cute clothes...its just going to take time. I work on being more positive about myself. That is why I add to my journal here when I am feeling "not so positive" because I can get it out instead of internalize it and use it to punish myself later. I take it an hour at a time, a day at a time, but sometimes I wish I could see the end, where I am beautiful and comfortable in my own skin.

If it helps, may I recommend how I approached my behavioral eating? Decide to just change ONE behavior a day. Once down pat, move on to the next one. Claim your victories AS they come - don't force them. Much success to you! If you need any type of help... we're here for you, alright?

be kind to yourself. you are already making huge changes and you got this. it takes time to make new ideas form into a lifestyle. some days my net carbs would be over 20, it is easy to get upset and frustrated, but just make note of how you felt and if you had any differences on those days or days to follow. because I actually learned that its key to switch up your meals, and i would switch from 14-20 hour fasts, keep your body guessing, and i would do a carb reload day once every 10-14 days, where i would eat about 50carbs total max. you got this. and your pic/filter is adorable!

Baby steps go a long way in the long run! Make small goals each week and build on them. Too much to fast leads to discouragement. You got this!

Be patient and never give up. I think 20 grams of carbohydrate per day as little for your weight. What does your dietitian say about this? I hope you reach the weight you want on a healthy diet. 😊🌸

weight loss is a life long journey, it is about making better choices, you already did that today!!! Good job. Your diet is about your choices over longer periods, not just one day or one meal. If you slip back just keep moving forward.

Love the pic. You shoot for 20 g of carbs but don't worry too much about going over some time. You are not expected to be perfect, just better

Also, I make baked chicken nuggets using pulverized pork rinds as the breading and my whole family loves them!! So there are fun ways to recreate some of your old favorites... hang in there and if you ever need any recipe advice or ideas let us know. We all want to support you!
