TMI... is there a too much info policy in The FatSecret community or do any questions go? My question isn't what I would consider too graphic or crude... but involves bathroom talk, so I figured I would ask permission to ask the question.

Thanks.

@judyrose LOL, Okay... I tend to have no filter and I'm open and honest, not easily offended or embarrassed... So my whole life I have been a person who goes to the bathroom (#2) in the morning, coffee or no coffee... it has always been very routine but for the last week maybe two I have been an evening person. So I haven't been weighing myself as often, because my ritual was drink my tea, go potty, get naked, weigh myself and shower... but now I feel my routine is off and would prefer to "go" before I weigh... you know get rid of yesterday's weight... Here are my questions: Has this switch-a-roo happened to anyone else on keto? Do you think this a bad thing/sign? Do you think I should just weigh myself in the morning anyways regardless? I feel like I eat so much fat and such that I wouldn't want to introduce any type of laxative/supplement to "assist" and get back to my usual rhythm but I have also been consuming more cheese than I used to... 🤷‍♀️

AH ...HMMM. My stuff has been all over the place. I mean I make it to the bathroom easily enough ,... but what happens , when it happens, and my feelings on the matter ...or lack thereof.... has changed almost weekly since I started Keto. So MY answer to your 1st question is Yes...the switch-a-roo has happen to me...and I add ....quite often! The answer to your second question is: Could be bad...could be good...could be very good....could be hard...could be loose....could be lonely...I get a lot of reading done lately.... now that's good. I get a lot of reading done lately in the middle of the night...now that's bad! Its a mixed bag except for the possibility of hemorrhoids. Now that's decidedly a bad possibility....maybe need some magnesium or Coconut oil in my coffee....could need a Doc. So be careful! Your 3rd question about weighing yourself...I am, myself, scale phobic. So I have to force myself into a rigid day & time schedule...bowel conditions be damned. Although , like you, I am slightly more relaxed if things are regular. But, hey...I think I should weigh myself rather than not weigh myself....so if I am shying away from the scale..because of bowel movements or lack there of....it's time to just jump on ...till the fear leaves me. I hate the idea of laxatives...but I do have a fresh supple for emergencies...only you can make that decision. On the other hand , I have NO PROBLEM with natural supplements...such as coconut oil in my coffee and/ or natural magnesium for cramps or whatever. I do not think we have broken any rules by this discussion (darn!) but I think we have "broken the ice" with it. The only other suggestion I can think of to give you....is: GOOGLE IT! My best to you....Keep calm; Keto on!

And just another word on the weighing yourself ------Weigh yourself---- whenever.....Do not worry...it will all come out in the end. Pun intended!!!!! :>D

@judyrose thanks for all your honest answers and support! I find it more helpful than google to hear from people, so I appreciate it!!

Oh mamamc7---I was just trying to be funny with the google remark...missed the mark, ;.( I should just stick to the respectful support. I , more than most, know how important this community is for feedback, experience and support. Google is pretty cool...but not much of trusted friend. Forgive my silliness and enjoy Keto!!!! Jude

I use to be super regular and enjoyably productive in the toilet. Since doing Keto I have lost that enjoyment. I just think that Keto does not produce as much stool.

@isleham1 I am glad (but not really) that I am not the only one. I used to be so regular and I used to enjoy the thought of and process of eliminating waste from the previous day. I feel like it helps the body eliminate wastes and now not being as regular makes me feel icky.

I take a magnesium supplement and that seems to do the trick.

@judy I took no offense. 😉 I know most people say "google it.

To answer your TMI question with a TMI answer I always weigh in as soon as I wake up AND, after using the bathroom. Though everyone is different, and for use as a reference point. One gallon of urine weighs approximately 8.5 lbs. As far as #2. I've never found it to produce a noticeable difference on the scale. It just doesn't weight much.

Really? I feel like after a good pee and poo I drop lots of weight... but that hasn't been happening in the mornings during my IF time like it used to. 😩 I may start drinking a gentle cleanse tea before bed and when I wake up for a few days, see if that helps me...

Wonderful discussion thread. Here I have been looking at laxatives thinking I am not 'ridding' all my waste every day as I used to. Apparently I'm 'normal' by this discussion. Who'd have thought. Feel there's not a lot there in my morning ablutions. Well done Mamamc7 for statring the honest discussion.

Well since we're sharing, I used to have a lot of problems with it. Sometimes 2-3 days without going. The increase in water, morning exercise (just started) and veggies are really helping!

@koby glad to be of help 😉 I am usually one to start the awkward convos... 😂

@kmking I am thinking more water, especially at night to help replenish while I sleep. I contemplate drinking coffee again... or cleansing teas that assist but don't force things like laxatives 😱

Well it just so happens, I was so concerned I went to the ER last night. Fearing I might have a blockage. They did xrays, everything was working fine no blockage. Gave me a script for softener and powdered lax. And drink tons of water. I normally drink 10 eight oz glasses a day! It's been 17 days hoping this works. Good luck all

@8patty oh no!!! 17 days without pooping? I would have gone to the ER too! After one day I freak out!!!

Hi Mamamc7. I`m pretty sure you are lacking fibre which improves digestive system and helps the poo easier to pass. You need 30g per day and I know it is really difficult to get that amount while on Keto. You can try chia seeds, lots of fibre and protein and very little net carbs. I think around 90% is fibre so only 10% of net carbs. I had the same poo challenge while on Keto but chia and vegetables helped. Good Luck!

We can talk about anything here, permission granted on any WOE....When the WOE changes so do the Bathroom habits, but I remember Lil to nothing going in, Lil to nothing going out..I to had the same problems, use to be 1-2 times a day, now I'm lucky with maybe 1-2 times a week..You do need to add some vegges to keep the system moving, And your journey goes on !!!
