3.1 miles walked with my Collie...Lab gal along for 2.0 miles. The pool water temp is up to 73 degrees naturally, so it may not be long now before I can get back into it (with the heater on!).

Today is about Day #4 in my new effort to reduce my diet soda intake. I've been replacing it with plain water, of course, but also with fresh-brewed decaf iced tea with some fresh-squeezed lemon juice. I just figured that I had not been able to drink as much diet soda as usual while I was out shopping on our trip, so why not take advantage of that and begin to wean myself off the stuff, or at least reduce my consumption significantly. In addition to general health benefits, it should be less expensive. The only problem is that I'm really liking those fresh lemons!!!

From a former Diet Coke addict - Congrats on working to give up the diet soda! Just think of all the vitamin C you are getting from those lemons. BTW - the craving do stop eventually (for the soda, not the lemons).

PS - I recommend going cold turkey.

I used to think I kept the Diet Coke company in business. True confession time; I used to drink MORE than a 2 litre a day...BY MY SELF! I couldn't get enough of the stuff. I would start & end each day with Diet Coke, switching to the caffein free was hard enough, but switching to just plain water was really hard, but I did it. I marvel at how bad I was, how bad it was for me, & I hate to think about how much money I spent on it over the DECADES! Believe it or not, from one X-Diet Coke Junkie, it is possible to drink in moderation. Now, I allow myself Diet Caffein Free Coke with supper only & that's it. I am good with sticking to that plan, although once in a while I have some with lunch on the weekend. Good Luck Sandy...you can do it!

I was addicted to diet pepsi...a case a day! I had to quit slowly by incorporating water...I got down to 2 to 4 24oz bottles and then simply to save money I switched my addiction to crystal lite energy wild strawberry. I just have an addictive personality...but now I drink 24oz of crystal lite with 24 oz water in between...i'm always thirsty...

LOL! You all can say you were addicted to diet pop at least! I would drink at least 2 of the 20oz bottles of Mountain Dew every day at work. And that was cutting back from almost a 2 liter a day habit. It was really hard to get that monkey off my back, but now I rarely think of grabbing any kind of pop. Although I did think of getting a diet root beer yesterday.
