Woke at 218.4, up 2.8 from yesterday as the body adjusts to a new regimen. I showed 4.6 pounds of water retention this morning, probably from the candies they gave me to suck on during the stem cell infusion (to fight the taste of the meds). I also ate some pears in juice last night that probably were high in carbs, too. I will do my five miles and eat lots of good protein and fat today and maybe we'll shed this water. UPDATE: Did a high protein breakfast and then walked 3 miles until Denise arrived. Had a nice chat and then took a 45 minute nap. Delicious lunch then came and now are are both reclining and on laptops. Will visit some more and eventually do more walking. Will do another 3 miles later just to keep things symmetrical! Feeling great. UPDATE: A big dinner and another nap. Denise left at 7 and I did two more miles to hit 6 for the day. Then they brought in a new patient who needed my room (closer to the nurses). So I got another half mile moving my stuff! But I got a much bigger and nicer room. Got a 212.2 weigh in, which under the circumstances, is fine. Don’t know how the bod is going to process all this stuff. I only ate 1263 calories today and it’s hard to get big calories with only the protein and veggies I’ve been eating. But plenty full as of 11 pm, so just going to roll with it.
