i don't understand it. very demoralized. have been on a STRICT diet ie recording everything i eat. i dropped my rdi from 1700 to 1600 per fatsecret when i lost a few lbs. have been exercising some every day either biking or walking. granted i don't exercise a lot 30 min generally. i weighed on my dr's scale and i was 2 lbs higher than 2 weeks ago. so depressed i can't even tell you. have been trying sooo hard. my doc who is asian and skinny as a rail i'm sure he never had to give 2 seconds thought to dieting. said, "eat less." what a genius. he said maybe you need to go down to 900 calories that is what some other patient of his eats and lose weight. i'll drop 100-200 calories a day if i can bear to. i've been starving as it is. dear lord give me strength.

inches lost is more important than the number on the scale

So SO True... I lost 3 dress sizes before I lost a single pound because I was putting on muscle with interval training and spin.

Hang in there- you have to see a positive result in the long run! Could even be water weight.... I stop looking at the number on the scale when I get frustrated cuz it can defeat you. Sometimes a new workout that challenges you more will make the difference too.

Hey, Rubato, you've lost 4 lbs in two weeks, that's terrific! Drop then settle; drop then settle. It's never a steady dropping.

Don't listen to your doctor. He should not advise you to go so low. He has to keep you healthy, not just thin. 1-2 lb a week is a terrific pace.

Keep in mind that if you're exercising, you're building muscle and that weighs more than fat. Go by how your clothes fit and don't worry about your doctor's scale - his may be off. He may have moved it or has not had it balanced as often as he should Don't give up....when you're going through Hell...keep going!
