Doctor appointment went well. I had lost almost 4 pounds in the three weeks by her scale. I got my last month prescription of the diet pills. I will slowly wean myself off of them in the last week or so. She asked me about the injection med, but I took a pass. The pills have been nice to give me a boost, but I have also been doing pretty well on my own. The thought of giving myself a shot in the belly every day is somewhat off-putting. I had to do insulin shots while pregnant years ago and I never got used to it. I did show her my progress pic because she had not seen me at my heaviest and she was impressed by my progress so far. Gave me a little ego boost for sure. I am going to get together my old clothes this weekend and sell them. I won't get rich, but I will make a little money and they will be gone. If I don't have them any more, I can't go back. LOL

Nice job, Sierra. There are some people who are against diet pills. My primary care physician gave me a lecture on the dangers of taking them when I told him I went to a weight loss specialist and she put me on them. I told him, I weighted 230 lbs when I started, I lost 50 pounds thanks to her. All he did was tell me to eat less and exercise. She gave me the tools to do that with. She (the weight loss doctor) said, I understand when you are that much over weight it is a choir just to walk around the block. The pills first helped me not eat as much which helped me lose the weight faster and also gave me the energy and motivation to want to do more. My problem is, every so often I fall back into my old habits. Then I go back to the weight loss doctor to get put on a plan that helps me get back on track. Between the weight loss doctor and this site - it has been working pretty well. Although I know I am still considered overweight, I am happy with that - it is a lot better than being obese.

I totally get it SkyDiver. I struggled with my decision. I felt like I was kinda cheating the system. But I looked back on what I had accomplished on my own and realized that it is just another tool that I wanted to consider. I think the main problem with the pills is that some people look at them as a magic pill. As you have learned, and I have as well, pills do not mean you don't have to make changes. I am glad that my doctor was open to the idea of my taking them. My weight loss had slowed way down and I was just wanting to spur things along a bit. And it has done that. However, I still stayed on plan and am trying to incorporate some exercise as well. The pills I am taking are very restricted in my state. You have to be obese(as I am) or considerably overweight, you have to show consistent weight loss, see the doctor every month to get weighed and vitals checked, and you can only take them for 3 months at a time with 6 months in between each series. The doctor offered me a new option for after this last month. It is a fairly new drug that is injected by the patient into the belly once a day. I took a pass as I stated above. I think everyone has to make their own decisions on what tools to use on their journey. Weight loss is definitely not one size fits all. I do wish you luck on your continued journey. :)

Enjoy your loss...Every well deserved pound of it!!!! You did it. How I wish that we could merely take a magic pill but it just doesn't work that way...We still have to do the time and do the work. You should be proud of yourself...I am!!!!
