Sandy701's Journal, 16 November 2011

Walked 3.2 miles today in the sweltering humidity. I had to break out the UGH Index again; probably a 6-7.

A line of strong storms is headed this way, so it's time to dose my poor Nervous Nellie. I bought her a Thundershirt yesterday. I haven't accustomed her to it yet, so I won't put it on her today, esp. since I may not be home when the storms hit intially.

I was VERY hungry after dinner last night, so I had another serving of protein, which seemed to eventually do the trick. I can't help but wonder if it's the spray whipped cream and/or the watermelon (higher on Carb Ladder) that might be triggering that hunger. Anyway, today I ate the last of the watermelon. Cantaloupe is up next, which is lower on the Ladder.

Sandy, I am having the same type of issues with cravings...I suppose it may have something to do with the changing of the seasons, and the time change...it gets dark so early now, that I eat dinner earlier, and since we stay up late....who knows..I do know I don't like it! Will just have to try to control myself. The chicken cordon bleu crustless pot pie did the trick pretty well last night though! lol Have a great day, and let me know how that thundershirt works...my doggies are big chickens during the storms also...

Sticky & icky! Poor poochie, being scared of the storms, I hope the shirt helps. I have been hungrier than usual lately too & am struggling to keep my calories in check, I am blaming mine on PMS hormones...I wish I could LOL about it, but just can't! Hope you get yours under control!

Sticky walking is horrible, I have to deal with that in Kansas.

I'm with Stef - something to do with the changing seasons. Plus, I remember from being on another diet that watermelon has an extremely high GI index. Hope the bad storms miss you!
