Sandy701's Journal, 17 November 2011

3.3 miles walked today; doggies along for 2.6. Brisk wind but sunny and DRY now that the front came through. Again....hard to know how best to dress for low 60's but so very windy.

I timed myself with a stopwatch yesterday on a portion of my walk and was pleasantly surprised to see a solid 3.5 mph without pushing myself. It's not a perfect timing, as one is always aware of being timed so might unconsciously try to go faster. But, there's really no alternative. Whenever I'm timing myself, I TRY to just relax and go a normal speed for me and not push it.

Today, I have a ham in the oven so I can make refrigerator room for a turkey (yet to be purchased). This afternoon, late, I'll be helping to package up Thanksgiving baskets for Saturday distribution to those in need. This is my first time doing this, so it should be an interesting experience both days.

There's a slight uptick (about a pound) in my weight that I hope will be gone by the next time I weigh in. This is just showing me that I'm not quite handling that spray whipped cream, as I thought I would. Live and learn. I "hope" to still use it, but I realize I have to exert a bit more control.
