My wife has this thing where she always puts my food scale 'away' because it causes 'a clutter'. It's 5" across and about 3/4" thick. Anyway, today I put the toaster away, which gets used once a day by her, and maybe once a week by me. My scale is used 4-5 times a day. I think it's more logical to put the toaster away.

If my counter was ever that uncluttered clean I'd faint. In about the same space, I have the Magic Bullet, the scale, the mini-Cuisinart, the juicer, the can opener, the doggie treat canister, the sugar canister... Your wife would exile me I'm sure.

Why not put the scale on top of the coffee maker and set it down when you use it? Still handy, but not on the counter.
