Day 5 Whole 30!
Wow guys, I have been strict for 5 days. I know it sounds measly but hey, that's huge for me. 5 days with absolutely NO added sugar or dark chocolate (my love). And you know whats insane? No cravings. I haven't craved anything.
Once Challenge I found myself in was last night. I had a T-bone steak defrosted for myself for dinner. But I had no leftover soups or extra food for lunch Friday. I started to panic a little. I rather make my own food than have to order in. ALso that comes with all complications since I have no idea what restaurants cook their food in.
Thankfully, there is egg salad. I had 4 hard boiled eggs left. I used my whole30 approved Primal kitchen Mayo, 1 slices of bacon crumbled and celery. So for lunch I have egg salad, 1 paleo tortilla (homemade) and some strawberries and steamed green beans.
This weekend will be a little tough, since I am visiting my parents. But I told my mom a few days ago over the phone I am doing this program and I do not want to eat out. My family always loves to eat out when I visit. But! I rather cook dinner at home. She was surprisingly supportive and offered for us to grocery shop together. She is letting me pick out the dinner! SO I am bringing my grass fed Ghee home with me and I will be cooking with my family.

That sounds really cool, and supportive on your family's part :) I'm sure your parents wouldn't mind seeing how you cook though, it sounds like you eat pretty well but also balanced! Creativity in the kitchen is the fun part.

Good job! You have the right idea. Focus on the things, that make a difference, and you can have a nice T-bone steak. That is what makes this all work. It's called awareness.

There you go!! We know the first month back is the hardest in a lot of ways, establishing new patterns & habits and losing the old ones, good for you!! Sounds like you are really seeing potential spots and planning around them, very smart.

Thanks all!! Sorry I post everyday but I look forward to posting my my full whole 30 journey. It keeps me motivated and on track. Also the journal posts make me feel accountable to stay on track! So far I found that planning is key to succeeding in this program. Also eating enough healthy fats, protein and veggies gets me full and satisfied, I don't even grave a desert now.
