187.4 this morning. I have not been tracking my calories well at all. I do fine during the day and cave in the evenings ... pretty much snacking my way to bedtime. My plan is to do better tonight. Must bring this spike back down ... up way too far for my comfort level. I have the weekend ahead too ... more time on my hands. Not a good thing right now. Perhaps I can find something to busy myself with ... I'll give that some thought today.

Have a good day friends ... take care of yourselves with healthy choices and joyful movement!! (I feel like I've stolen someone else's line ... was it yours Amy?)

I think you need a "be good to you" weekend. :) Try to do somethings that you love but don't seem to have the time for or perhaps schedule a little spa treatment like a pedicure or some such thing??? Eating at night is a problem for so many of us. It is like the end of the day and now we have to actually think about and face the stresses in our lives. Rather than feel them or so we can feel better, we eat! I wish I knew a way to just turn it off myself some days. :) {{{hugs}}} and wishes for a bright and happy spot in your day!

How about packing up some healthy snacks for yourself? I always like to bake to relax, but that gets me into trouble!

I don't know what works for you, but stresses like you're experiencing would drive me to CHOP SOMETHING (or PUNCH something)!...Did you finish that tree from last weekend? (The spa treatment only makes me feel better when I'm already feeling pretty good.) ...Oh, and going to a quiet, private place and CURSING GOD - at the top of your lungs - and telling him how you REALLY feel about this UNFAIRNESS is another trick that has sometimes worked for me. (Only suggestions.)

How about walking at night OR new routine WITH hubby, a board game, poker, movies, cuddling anything that helps the two wind down from your day and keeps you from the snacks! lol, i think it is a stolen line but i dont' think she'll mind

I always wondered what would have happened if when I was younger I'd become a knitter or something instead of being bored and eating. Keeping the hands active is important, keeping the mind focused on anything other than food is extremely important. Good luck, maybe several hundred hands of solitaire.

Not stealing - sharing!! I probably stole if from someone else anyway. :) I feel like we must be linked by brain waves or something. I'm having the same issue - eating fine during the day, snacking like crazy at night. The bad thing for me is, it's not showing up on the scale so I feel like I'm getting away with something. Of course if I was NOT snacking I'd probably be losing. I'll have to go back and re-read all the suggestions to you above and see if any of them fit for me, too. Trouble is - no matter how busy you keep your hands, it really doesn't take but a few minutes to grab a snack and eat it!

Are you a cleaner? That nervous habit works for me. Will you be at home or in a waiting mode outside your home? My excessive down time at home leads me to clean, straighten, or organize my environment in the atempt to "fix" things. During my husband's MOHS surgery for skin cancer last summer - I walked around and around and around the hospital grounds. Something to do with your hands helps. Good luck. You CAN do it. Much love.

I just read a book that the main character had a weight problem & she used sleeping pills at night. She said she could only handle 12 hours of dealing with the urges! NOW... I DO NOT recommend this path. But I do understand the frustration we go through & the need to find ways! That is why this website is so very awesome! If I am typing I can't eat! LOL! We are here for you & just come & talk to us! Search the site find something to keep you busy! I also find knitting helps because I keep my hands busy! I can't eat ice cream or anything! Truly it helps! I also ask my Heavenly Father for guidance & ask him to help me through this! It is such a challenge & something we are supposed to be learning! I wish I was smarter!:d HUGS for now...pf HUGS to you & hope you have a better day
