Good Afternoon, FS Warriors! Yay, the idiot box bowed in submission this morning! Well, that's two out of the past 3 weeks with good tidings. We won't go into how many bad tidings were delivered out of the past few months. Anyway, every day is a new day now. I have discovered that I must be going through some sort of deprivation, because if I delay lunch for an hour or so, I feel like my stomach is turning inside out, trying to absorb some nutrition from the surrounding fat cells. Makes me feel like I'm starving, even though I know I am not; starvation must be a terrible way to go.

My biggest challenge tonight will be to choose an entree that is filling, and provides an abundance of nutrition with the least amount of useless carbs. I'm OK with something like a chefs salad, or chunky chicken salad, but I can't do it without the dressing. Or, I could get fried chicken and take the skin off. Anyway, as long as I am concerned and think about it, like I am now, I won't get carried away by cravings - which is kind of what got me here in the first place. I'm good. I'll be fine. I know I am going to get to the point - as we talked about yesterday - where every pound is going to be a struggle, but I want the next 10 pounds to come off in a hurry, because I still haven't gotten back down to where I was before I went on this out of control binge. So, I feel like I haven't gotten back to my starting point - if that makes any sense to anyone but me.

The shop called and the van is ready. I thought DW would be thrilled. $2800. I don't think that that is all that bad, for a complete rebuild, that's guaranteed. As usual, the glass is half empty. Now we won't be able to buy the Taj Mahal. I'll never be able to retire!

"Gloom, despair and agony on me. Deep dark depression, excessive misery. If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. Gloom, despair and agony on me"

. . . Do you remember that song? I have got a family of drama queens, and believe me, they come by it honestly; passed down from generation to generation. Well, I don't want to keep anyone from heading out on vacation this labor day weekend (here in the States), so here's wishing everyone a wonderful and safe weekend. Toodles!

Well done on the drop in weight, DK! I haven't weighed this week. Had my mom here and the hubs and I are busy mixing cement every day trying to lay the foundation for my little 6 X 9 greenhouse. Heat and humidity are doing us in, I am afraid. I did laugh at your doom and gloom quotation. You are positive enough for the both of you ... glad you have a sense of humor considering the "doom and gloom" spouse. Have a lovely low carb weekend pulling the skin off the fried chicken and eating lower carbs. It's all good. :o)

Yep, it was Hee Haw. Well, I didn't get fried chicken. I got come kind of baked chicken cutlet smothered in cheese and mushrooms. Ate the yellow corn, baked potato, and half the chicen breast (or whatever it was). Got a box for the remainng chicken, DW left it on the counter overnight, and I threw it away this morning. Haha. Gotta luv it!
