Lost weight! My headaches continue. Three doctor's seen and all disagree on what is causing the headaches. The headache is what I originally went to the doctor for and discovered I had high blood pressure. They did a blood panel to make sure the high blood pressure was not caused by any other physical problem like bad kidney's or organ problems and I am fine that way. BP keeps going up and down but never down enough to be good. Ive been on the BP med's for just over one week now. I go back to doctor the 29th. Have to wait it out. I am under doctor orders not to walk or exercise (that almost sounds like a good thing doesn't it hehehehe) .
Diet wise it is still the night time eating that puts all the pressure on me. Why is it I can go all day and even skip a meal and not be bothered but the moment I sit down in front of a television all the old growing up habits of eating in front of the tv set enter's my mind. This is a HUGE battle going on. I can clearly see that I lose weight if I stop eating at night. Other than going to bed at 8:30 pm every night and waking up before the sun is up, It is a real battle.

HOW IS YOUR BATTLE OF NIGHT TIME EATING GOING??? HAVE YOU FOUND ANYTHING THAT HELPS?? MEDITATION?? DRINKING WATER??? ANYTHING??? I think I might try getting some celery...hmmmm. just thinking although technically that is still eating isn't it.

Congratulations on the loss! I know how hard it must be given all the challenges right now. Way to go gg! Eating at night is our achilles heel for sure. I posted on my journal answering this question-chewing gum helps me AND staying out of the kitchen, lol! I notice too that when I do eat after 8 or 9PM, I am eating something very low in cals-a sf pudding or jello, a triangle of laughing cow cheese (sounds good w/celery) or some berries with a dollop of greek yogurt. When I am truly desperate, I will eat a klondike slimbear bar-really satisfying and because I am lactose intolerant, I feel so sick afterwards, I can't eat anything else :). Maybe focusing on what you eat at night rather than trying to NOT eat is a good compromise right now? I am also trying to make dinner the lowest calorie meal of the day, so If I do eat "dessert" It's not on top of a heavier meal. One more thing I know works for me but may sound weird---I will soak my feet in a big tub of epsom salt water while watching telly, sometimes even giving myself a pedicure. Keeps me occupied and hard to walk to the kitchen with my feet in a tub of water....and it feels good! I hope they figure out this high blood pressure business. I hate health mysteries!

I am sorry that you are still having the headaches and they have not found the cause of the BP problem. I hope they will do so very swiftly. I wish I could tell you about the night eating. I think that is an issue for a lot of us. Maybe take up some hobby that keeps your hands busy? Knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, stringing beads, etc???

I was just checking in to see what the doctors said. Such a bummer they cannot figure it out. BUT congrats on the weight loss. I still have not figured out the evening snacks. I think it's me but then I read how similar you are. For me the TV is bad but I enjoy doing something mindless after the crazy day. The pedicure does work but I'm lucky if I do that once a month. Look after yourself and take care.
