I'm so sorry Babs. I know this gain wasn't the intended plan and it's very frustrating for you. I hesitate to give advice to anyone about their diet, but I do agree that the apple pie was not in your best interest. Hopefully you can find some answers when you look at what you've been doing. Remember how far you've come! There is a solution for every problem and you just have to find it. Take care and stay positive. I'm sending love and hugs straight to you, my friend!

Hey Babs - I feel your pain and am in the same boat....

I feel your pain! I am so upset with myself. Not only can't I shift the last 3 pounds, I gained 5!!! UGH, so frustrated with myself. I did write a list of what could be the issue. Hope that makes the difference in the next weigh-in.

Babs - Hate that for you. But you've got that apple pie thing out of your system so now you can move on.

Babs, I had a horrible gain last week. I sat down and decided enough was enough and then planned my next day. After I picked up my Atkins book and started re-reading to motivate/refresh myself again. And of course, I started reading the journals here. But my biggest motivator was hating how I felt. That is what worked for me. You haven't come this far to give up. I'm rooting for you.

Cut out the radioactive dye! Seriously, is there any chance that it's affecting your weight this week? Maybe don't panic until another week goes by? (Don't panic then, either, but you know what I mean.)

I think maybe the stress testing you did for 2 days may have played a factor in your weight. I would say drink lots of water, look back and see if anything in your food has changed, have you upped or changed your exercise recently? If nothing major has changed perhaps it is just a fluctuation.

Sandy - I had not really thought about that as being a huge factor but maybe that did play a part. I know I was really stressed about it before, during and after. So, I won't panic....yet!

Buffy - I was like a mad woman when I got home tonight. Made a bee-line for the fridge, retrieved that effen apple pie and took sheer joy as my garbage disposal devoured every last morsel of it!! AAHHH, I feel better now!!!!

I seem to be gaining and losing the same weight over and over. But I take total blame cause there have been events where I have eaten off plan. Glad you got rid of the apple pie.

Babs - Sometimes you've got to do what you've got to do.

Poor apple pie didn't know what hit him! LOL... sorry it made me laugh as I was envisioning the scene. I am with Pam, I don't feel qualified to make any suggestions, but I did take a random sampling of your recent foods and I have to say you eat a lot of the same foods I do. The only thing I might suggest is to watch your fat and sodium intake... I know that one's hard for me too. Right now Ribeye steaks are off my plate, I substitute top sirloin instead, lower fat and calories, and I still get my steak! Just keep at it Babs, you will get there... see, we are all holding your hand as we jog down the beach. Chin up, girl!

AuntieJan- Yeah, I got pure joy out of feeding my disposal that pie. It was pretty funny, my husband said "Just leave it there in the sink, I will take care of it." and I said "ABSOLUTELY NOT...this is good therapy for me to get rid of this myself!" All I could feel on my fingers as I shoved it down was the fat on my fingers from the crust. YUCK!! I will take your tip about the sirloin vs the rib eye because I do love me some steak on the grill. I do watch my sodium and my target is 1500-2300mg/day, I am at 2254 avg for the month so I think I am OK there. The fat is still too high as my target is 30%/day which is about 53g/day and I am averaging 64g/day. I am going to drop things down for a few days, drink a ton of h2o (which I already do) and see if I can flush it out. Funny, I don't feel heavier and my clothes are actually feeling looser...good sign I guess!

Lol @ the pie story. Don't sweat it. Well, actually... DO sweat it...OFF. ;) Thanks for the add and look forward to your success!

I am hyperventilating as I imagine your pie scene...you are stronger than I, girlfriend. I had to chuckle at Sandy's comment because I caught myself wondering if radioactive dye is low-carb. The world may never know...as far as the gain, I do agree that considering the stress testing, last week wasn't a typical one so personally, I wouldn't take any action based on the gain. I'd say try to stick to all of your targets very closely this week, then weigh again & evaluate from there.

Kat, you are right. Don't want to over react and I'm still waiting for the test results, should have them tomorrow. I guess subconsciously I'm still stressed!
