GLAMMER's Journal, 17 April 2015

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all doing well & enjoying health & weight loss success. I haven't been on here in quite awhile, due to having computer & monitor problems, being busy with water therapy, & other life & health issues. I've dislocated my left shoulder twice in the last month & a half or so, & now it keeps "sublaxing" (painful displacement, but not quite dislocating), even while doing simple things like getting dressed or beating eggs. Xrays showed nothing is broken, but the muscles & tissues were injured, & the arthritis is so bad they plan to replace my shoulder joint anyway. Dr appts & tests for this are keeping us busy, as well as my water therapy twice a week at the YMCA, which is helping with both weight loss & whole body joint strength & flexibility. I am really starting to feel stronger & better, & that is encouraging. My insurance denied my Dr's request for an MRI on my shoulder, so we're working on resolving that issue. Supposedly my Dr didn't give the insurance enough info to approve the MRI. Stupid red tape! I'm still losing weight, very S-L-O-W-L-Y, but this is still good, as I know I can keep it off once I'm finally down to where I need to be. We are going to be on vacation next week, but when we return I'll try to be more regular in my FS communications. I truly appreciate all the encouragement & fellowship we share on FS, & have missed my regular visits with you all. My SIL worked on my computer a bit, but it still has some problems, we just don't quite know what they are. I did figure out that my monitor's ON-OFF switch has a short or something, & if I wiggle it back & forth a little the picture usually will appear. Computers, gotta love em, LOL!

Glad you are back! Good that you are still doing the water therapy. In case the wiggling stops working for you, you can buy a monitor seperate from a CPU unit. We have a refurbishing store that sells them really cheap. There might be one near you.

Sorry to hear about your shoulder. I sure hope they clear you for an MRI. The insurance companies deny the first time until they receive more info and sometimes it could just be a diagnosis code. Some ins. co's have a set routine and you have to do their routine before they approve it. It sounds like you are really trying hard through all of this and wow--pat yourself on the back because you are still getting to water therapy! Computer's---ugh! Don't get me started. LOL. Hubby does that for a living, so when he comes home--you don't dare tell him something is wroing--LOL. I hope you enjoy your vacation!

TY for your encouragement DebN, Socolova, Kattay & Jillzee00. My monitor is still acting up, but at least it works. TY for the info about monitors Kattay, I'll check into that. Jillzee00, I can relate since my SIL fixes my computer, & he works at Walmart's electronics dept, LOL! Computers can be such a pain in the butt, but stupid, picky health insurance hangups are even more frustrating! Hopefully that issue will be resolved soon too, & I can get my MRI for my shoulder replacement surgery. We had a great time on vacation overall, & best of all I actually LOST at least 1 lb from my weight before vacation ~~ YAY!!! (doin a skinny, Happy Dance) ~~ GLAMMER
