47 days of no sugar. Last night there was pie. CHOCOLATE pie! It was my sister's birthday and she brought about 5 types of pie. I can't stand fruit pie, but she brought a chocolate one. It was beautiful all covered in whipped cream. I ALMOST gave in, but I didn't, but I really wanted to, but I didn't. Did I mention the whipped cream? Also did I mention it was my sister's 50th birthday? I love that she will always be older than me.

Last month I went with my Mom to get some skin cancer cut off her arm. It was cool I got to see all her fat cells and watch the doctor stitch her up. Today my Dad got his test results back. He has some cancer cells on his prostate. The doctor said there were so few, and it's so slow growing they are just going to watch it every 6 months. The really scary part was my 16 year old nephew found a lump in one of his...um...parts. His appointment wasn't supposed to be until next week, then get the results back next week, but his doctor rushed him into sonogram and told them the results right away. It's just a cyst. WHEW! That's 3. No more! Done!

Proud of your resistance to the pie. And so long without sugar. Have to ask myself if I could do it that long. I hope the rest of your week is better. Hugs IC

So much good news. And so impressive that there was chocolate pie and you were dealing with so many stressful events and you still kept your resolve. Wow!

That took a lot of willpower to refuse chocolate pie. Pat yourself on the back and give yourself a nonfood reward!

Awesome! Another person who gave up on sugar. Do you still eat other sweet things(like fruits, fructose, honey)? I found that droping slowly, one by one, all the sweet foods really helped my cravings for cakes/bakery goods etc. Now, after some time of no sweet tasting food, I can eat fruits or dried fruits or even some small quantity of desert without indulging or finding a great pleasure in it. Food is just needed to survive. Lets indulge in other things, like the company of the people dear to us.

You should have just tasted it! why no sugar? I just never put sugar on anything...but it is in just about everything...Now thats a lot of celery...which has sugar. How is it you are able to avoid sugar for 47 days?

Sugar means usually no white table sugar or any other sweetener like maple/agave syrup. Sugar from vegetables, fruits etc is not the same.

My goodness, positive thoughts sent your fam's way!!! Scary stuff! In regards to the chocolate pie, have you ever made a tofu chocolate mousse pie? I found the recipe on Chocolate-Covered Katie a while back, it's actually pretty good!
