Greeneyes007's Journal, 24 February 2015

Well, I'm back and ready to get back on track. We laid my Mother to rest yesterday. I want to thank my Buddies who have been so supportive through this very hard time. Now after 6 years of taking care of her, it's time for me to adjust to a new life. I couldn't ever leave the house without having someone here to take care of my Mom. Now I can take walks every night after dinner. There are a lot of changes coming my way, but I won't run from any of them, I'll face them head on. It's time for me to finally reach my 100 pound weight loss goal. Again, thank you to all of you for your kind words of support the last month.

Just read your comment and then went to your profile. You are such an inspiration! Your burden has been great and you've been tested in ways most of us are not. Be sure to let yourself grieve in the coming months. Grief usually comes in waves. Just when you feel okay, another wave washes over you. If you want some support with it, I'm sure your local hospice organization has publications and support groups. Focusing on your weight loss goals might be a very good way to fill that hole left by the intensity of focus you had to have for your mother's last years. And remember to breathe...
