kattay's Journal, 26 November 2014

I decided to do a pre-Thanksgiving weigh-in instead of waiting until the end of the month. As I have mentioned before, so many of my family's birthdays are in November and December. I have never not gained weight these two months! So far I have gotten through November with weight loss!

And now, here is Thanksgiving. Using the zig zag method, or alternate day. High, low calorie days. Still keeping high days under RDI. Lots of water, portion control, more walking, and more small weight lifting.

My Thanksgiving major meal will be lunch. My darlings are going to their soon to be in-laws for their evening Thanksgiving dinners. My daughter doesn't want me to cook because they have it all planned out and it is at her house. Yay, I don't have to do anything! I'm guessing they don't want me cook up some whole grain concoction or other "healthy" choices. Bottle of wine it is then.

Happy Thanksgiving day and weekend to everyone on FS!!

Kattay, had to laugh about the whole grain concoction. One of my daughters complains that I never have cooked "normal" food. I'm taking homemade rolls (expected as always) and stuffing (my daughter doesn't like stuffing so makes nasty stove top). Have a nice day with your family.

Thank you Wholefoodnut! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family too and a great weekend! My family likes the store bought rolls so I don't have to worry about getting fatter off of those rolls :) I'm betting your homemade rolls are delicious. I don't know what is on the menu, don't care. Just want to be with my family. I am so excited!

My family expects mom's rolls. I now only make rolls for my family or food days at work. My last batch was for work, I sent the ones left home with my boss, I know she likes them. If I keep them here I will eat them. I don't like most store breads so don't buy them. I make my whole grain bread usually once a week. I will probably make enough today to run a few over to my neighbor.

One of these days I am going to try some whole grain bread. Right now I have too much weight to lose. I would probably be the only one eating it :)

I am thinking I need to clarify the Thanksgiving lunch. Our family generally has our big meal for lunch on holidays since my children started dating. They wanted to spend their evenings at their significant others in the evening because that was when they had their major meals. The arrangement always worked well for me. I did the major bustling around in the morning and could relax with any family there in the evenings while having leftovers for dinner. Worked out very well for us. So, no, I wasn't sad that I would be alone in the evening! Got to talk to most of my long distance family and friends. Did some quick exercises, etc. Had a great time with my family while I was with them!
