Good Morning, FS Warriors! Planned on getting up at 4:00, but DW came to bed at 3:45 this morning and woke me up. What the heck! She stays up all night on Facebook while watching those socially redeeming shows like Gypsy Weddings or Bridezilla. Thank goodness Honey Boo Boo is gone. LOL! I don't know what's gotten into that woman! If I get up in the middle of the night, I sometimes find her slumped over in some God awful position, sound asleep. I'll wake her up and say, "Why don't you come to bed?" She'll say, "I wasn't sleeping." I'm not going to argue with her at 2 in the morning over something stupid like that, so I just go back to bed. Must be her medicine or something. Maybe I'll retire so I can do that, and she can go to work.

Didn't run this morning - rest day. Went down and worked out on the Weider Body Works machine before attending to Mack the Lab. How that boy goes from a groggy sleep to jumping off all fours in a matter of seconds, I'll probably never know. He's an eight year old puppy I guess. We'll do our tradional morning breakfast ritual: a treat, breakfast, and then a big milk bone, followed by a belly rub, and then he's good until I get home. That's what's great about dogs; seems they never have a bad hair day, and they're always glad to see you.

Well, it's back to coming to work in the dark, and going home in the dark. I knew there was something I didn't like about this time of year. But then I look at other parts of the country that are getting hammered by snow and ice and think, this isn't so bad. I saw Minnesota on the news last night. My heart goes out to you folks. So early in the year, yuk! It was 29F this morning here, but after seeing the weather elsewhere, that wasn't so bad.

Had spaghetti last night with a couple of glasses of cabernet sauvignon. I only do that when the stars are in alignmnet, or we have spaghetti the night before a rest day - either one. It was very good, but I must not have been absolutely convinced on the first helping, so I had to have another plate. Why do I do that? It isn't like she's never going to make it again. Ughh! Guess that's why I'm on here. Well, that's why I first started coming on here. Now, I come on here because I just can't live without you guys. :)

Well, it's time to start on everyone's performance evaluations. It's the best of times; it's the worst of times. I have some very good people working with me. But in this economy that we are experiencing, just being good at what you do isn't necessarily enough, not if you want to move up. It has become very competitive - and political. I want to keep them all here to make my job easier, but I have to be honest with them, and sometimes recommend that they apply for other positions that give them a better shot at advancement. Nothing to do with diet here, but that never stopped me before. Has a lot to do with my sanity, integrity and character though. I still have to look at myself in the mirror, even though I haven't been shaving much lately.

Well, Buddies, I had better get off of here and get some work done. Hope you all have a wonderful and productive day; most of the time it is within your power to make that happen. But, if circumstances prevent it, then adapt, improvise and overcome. Toodles!

Peppy dogs, bad hair days, and integrity - full journal and giving a lot to think about.

Love your post. Sympathize with the evaluations. No doubt you will do a great job. I recommended one guy to go into telemarketing because he loved talking too much and not doing any work. He did, believe it or not, and loved it! Sorry folks, we all don't care for telemarketers :) Some other former employees took my suggestions too and did well. I hated giving and getting performance evaluations. Stressed more about giving because I had to be brutally (for me) honest. Worst was when I had to explain why none of us were getting raises because of the wage freezes we were experiencing at one time. Spaghetti dinner with wine sounds great! Temps were in the 60s and 70s these two days but supposed to take a major dip starting Thursday. Feel sorry for the people who are getting dumped with snow so early in the year. Miss having a dog so much. Can't have them here where I live now. Can have a cat, go figure. Better than nothing, but close to nothing. I love her anyway. Guess I was used to always have a dog around, great company, love you regardless of yourself and keep intruders away just by their presence. So many more benefits of having a dog (sigh). Take care and have an awesome day!
