I just don't know how to feel today. I got on the scale and gained a pound. I feel like I've been eating well and I've been exercising like I should be but still I gain weight. My "official" weigh-in isn't until tomorrow but it's not looking good. Now I'll be off to work where I'll stand for the next 7 hours. Maybe it will be slow and I'll be able to walk around the store. That should count as walking right?

Yeah... I don't know about counting it as walking. It's not sitting. I wouldn't calculate it into my 'allowable calories'. Don't worry about that pound. You'll find you fluctuate quite a bit over the course of a week. I only accept my lowest weight for the week. I weigh every day, but only accept the lowest. Now, if your lowest keeps rising, then you have something to worry about.

Calculate it as standing. That's an option.

I guess I'l count it as standing. At least I'm just sitting on my butt doing nothing.

Drink plenty of water today. You may have been retaining water and you can wake up tomorrow lighter. Google "why the scale lies" for insight in to water weight fluctuations. The scale will go up and down all day and all week long based on many factors. Look at your chart, as long as it has a mostly downward direction, you are doing fine.

You can also count sitting, desk work (I'm guessing lots of arm movement there) and shopping. Get yourself a pedometer. They are as cheap as $11 at Wal-Mart. I use that to calculate calories burned and match those to the FS log because my times don't match. Probably because the longer I walk the slower I get because my back hurts.

Thanks everyone! I decided to count my walking at work as simply standing. I also think I may have had a bit to much salt yesterday so I'm going to pass it off as a bad scale day and look forward to another successful week.
