wholefoodnut's Journal, 18 October 2014

Thankfully the workweek is over. A beautiful fall Saturday morning, my red maple is turning color. Supposed to be mid sixties by this afternoon and tomorrow about seventy. Will spend mornings doing inside chores and afternoons trying to sort out my garage. A run to the natural food store 10 miles away for a few things this morning as they are closed on Sunday.

Was so tired and grouchy by the time I came home yesterday I had a glass of wine and toast and went to bed early. Wasn't hungry, no energy left to even heat up dinner. Slept 13 hours. Body doing it's healing thing.

After work, dropped of a huge bag of clothes at the salvation army then went hunting for Royal's world series stuff for the triplet's upcoming birthday. They informed me Thursday that is what "needed" for their birthday. People were being pushy and rude a couple places, no patience for that. Went to Dick's sporting goods, they had ads running. Nothing had prices, you had to take them through the long line at the register to find out. Sheesch!!! Left. Told the manager up by the register that was ridiculous and I'd spend my money elsewhere.

Decided I was no mood to look further. Headed home stopped at a couple grocers on the way for some mozzarella $6.00 a pound for the tasteless generic stuff and they didn't have any others. I can get really good ones at the restaurant supply for under $4.00/ lb. Didn't get any. Went home. One thing I didn't spend any money :)))) about 8,500 steps.

I hear ya - getting people to take your money shouldn't be so hard. I get a lot of steps in just being frustrated like you - looking, hunting, etc., tracking down sales assistants and more. Then I usually end up coming home and ordering online. Two clicks and I'm done. Which reminds me.. I need to order that thing Home Depot didn't have yesterday. But can you believe I bought a SANDER! I think that's my first tool bought on my own. Glad to read your body continues to heal. How's your head?

Woot woot!!! A sander! I need to get one when I go to get the rest of the wood for my stairway trim. I have a little palm sander my son-in-law gave me. It works great but not perfect for bigger projects. Feeling better but mentally still fuzzy. I forced myself for work but harder getting motivated at home. Search online this weekend for the boys. I'd like to give them to them early as the series starts Tuesday their birthday is the 29th.

Went through the grocery ads looking for butter hoping for a sale. No butter but found mozzarella at aldi's for $3.69 a pound. That will work for my healthy pizza experiments. I have a weight watchers book with 150 recipes some sound really good, but only have parmesan cheese at the moment.

I'm big at ordering online too… and also am grateful for the reminder as I need to order my doggie's supplements. But, I did go dress shopping today successfully, and found it very uplifting -- I was lucky to find real retail therapy at its best! Keep sleeping, my friend, for as you so wisely said, it's your body recovering. xoxox

Our best day was yesterday (sunny 74) and I got really sick on my walk and had to stop early. Now it's back to cloudy, cool and ugly.

Aww msbuggirl, I'm sorry. At least we are supposed to have a few nice days ahead.

Today (Sunday) was really nice, eventually, but I don't get as much exercise on Sundays what with church and then listening to the NASCAR race on the radio. Supposed to rain again tomorrow but we'll fit our walk in somewhere.

I crashed on Saturday, gave into my body telling me to do nothing and rest. I think I'm much better because of it.
