Tulipgirl6's Journal, 20 September 2014

I am really bummed. It's getting really hard to lose any weight or inches. The fact that I have a neuroma and 2 fractures is not helping. The podiatrist also chopped off 1/2 of my other foot's big toenail. So I did go to the gym today and didn't do cardio but I did seated exercises . . . .

So sorry you have these issues. I have neuromas in both feet, good sneakers help a lot.

how do you deal with it? what kind of sneakers do you use? I must have tried on 20 pairs at city sports the other week, and there must be something wrong with my feet because the salesperson couldn't honestly tell me that any one of them was right for me. . . . i'm feeling so down right now about my belly; i look like a really fit pregnant person!

I know how you feel! Keep your eye on your goal and don't just give up because your weight loss isn't fitting your time schedule. I've been plateaued for 3 weeks (actually put on weight, despite 100% faithful to my plan) and it makes me angry, but what would be the point of giving up? I've just spent a lot of time reading and trying to work our what I'm doing wrong. I tweaked the diet here and there and I'm hoping I'm back onto losing weight (the scales have started to drop at last). Maybe you need to reassess what you're doing? A different diet? Some changes to it? Weight loss does slow as you get closer to your goal, but that's even more frustrating because you can see the end in sight. I hope you keep your determination, because you've done so well so far!

The other thing, when people have been dieting for a while, sometimes they let little things slip and don't even realise. Weight Watchers leaders often suggest a complete reassessment of what you're doing if you have plateaued later in the game. Maybe you've stopped measuring, and portion sizes are slipping. Maybe you're slipping in something that shouldn't be in your diet? Check those treats and make sure they have what they say they have in them. That sort of stuff. I'm on ketogenic diet ond I realised this week that I was getting way too many carbs because I wasn't measuring my milk. That can do it.

I switched from my Nikes to new balance, they seem to have more padding. I love going barefoot but quit because it hurt. Ran around in padded flip flops for awhile because my wood floors hurt. Still do most of the time, but those knots of inflamed nerves have subsided considerably. I bought work shoes that were not sneakers but made by new balance thru the joes website so I could wear them to work. Sneakers were banned. I would think whatever ones feel really good on your feet would work well. NB seem to fit my feet well. My doc told me surgery would be an option if was bad enough to remove the nerve bundle. I quit worrying about looking stylish but went for comfy. It took a number of months.

New Balance is a good shoe. My podriatrist told me that the higher the number on the shoe the more support it has. I wore them when bothered by heel spurs and they seemed to make a difference.
