Good Morning, FS Warriors! Up and out the door at 4 this morning. The news had it yesterday that my little village got 7 1/2 inches of rain so far this week. I could tell it too; some of the basement rooms started getting water right up through the floor. Looks like another job in the making; have to install some systems to keep the ground water level down. According to weather.com this morning it was 53 degrees when I went out for my run. It was breezy also, real breezy. That's good though; it's going to dry things out a bit, before the rain comes again, maybe Saturday. Clear skies this morning though, Yay! Ran 3 1/4 miles at a moderate pace. Temp and breeze made for a pretty comfortable run. I ran a little over 20 miles total last week, and it looks like I'll get in about 18 1/2 or 19 this week, a little less than last week, due to the rain.
Worship/Nursing Home Ministry practice went pretty well last night. I went directly there without eating first, which I don't know if that's such a great idea or not. I was famished by the time I got home. DW decided she was in the mood for breakfast again, so we had eggs, pancakes and sausage. I had some dewatering to do downstairs for a couple hours, so I probably burnt a good deal of it off. I ordered an electric jack hammer yesterday, since I've got a lot of concrete work to do over the next year, and it would cost more to rent than to go ahead and buy one.
Getting the two big A/C units installed in the schoolhouse today. Of course, the temps are pretty pleasant and well below norm this week, so we'll have the windows open instead of running the Air anyway.
My weight loss has been kind of stagnant this last month, but I am not real concerned. I've been concentrating on the running and the strength training, and I know the weight loss will follow suit eventually. At least I'm not gaining. When I run 6 to 8 miles, I know I can come back and record a loss, but that doesn't paint a realistic picture of any lasting weight reduction. I am thankful for my health, and for the fact that I can run at all. It amazes even me that I attempted a 10K less than 2 weeks ago, and it astonishes me that I finished it. LOL! And now I'm considering a half-marathon? Maybe a full marathon after that? Barring any debilitating illness, and if my hips and knees hold up, who knows? Anything is possible. Believe me, I am not tooting my own horn here. After surviving the head-on auto collision in 2004, it's only by the grace of God that I even dreamed of jogging again, let alone running long races. I feel that every day is a gift. Hope you do as well. Toodles!

Awesome that you do as great as you do with a head on collision in your history. I so understand "by the Grace of God". Nice run. Bet that breeze felt good while you were running. Love breakfast food for dinner, and I like dinner food for breakfast when I have leftovers. But that is just me :)

DK - we are on the same page! In the morning I sometimes wake up with my aches and pains but I drag myself up, stretch it out and get my butt to the gym! I always thank the Higher Powers that I have the health and fitness to keep at it!

Loving all this running you report - I'm living vicariously through you! :) You could totally do a half marathon - you have the discipline to train for it!

Sad. I see people in the obituaries that are 10, 15 years younger than me, sometimes because of their lifestyles, but most of the time through no fault of their own. I think the older I get, the more I realize that it would be rather selfish to not cherish the gift of life and at least try to remain fit and healthy for whatever purpose I have in this life. I didn't think much about these things when I was younger. Thanks, Erika, I need a good motivator/trainer. I was thinking about friending you on the Nike site and then you went and got married and pregnant. :D Kattay, you must be a sister from another mother. :) HCB, I'm proud of you; you've been determined since I can remember.

This dang foot surgery from last freakin April is what's really killing me - I'd love to be out there on some nice slow jogs, but my foot isn't what it used to be at the moment - I'm praying that I'll be able to get back into it once baby is here!

Schoolhouse? You own one? I agree totally with you, DK. Every breath we take is a gift. None of us knows if we will be getting up the next morning or make an errant step during the day that will end us. Actually, my life's goal is to go to bed healthy and wake up in the presence of perfect light in a perfect body. More than likely there will be suffering at the end though. Rapture?

Yeah, NM, I'm all for the Rapture; I don't like suffering either. Yep, I have an old schoolhouse that was built in 1910, and only went up through the 8th grade. The gymnasium was built in 1937, but required major work when we got it. As a matter of fact, it all required major work and still does. :) Yeah, Erika, you're a natural. Wierd how that foot problem came on so suddenly and stayed with you. BTW, during my 10K, a girl won her age group in the 5K - pushing a stroller no less.

If your weight is stagnate with all that training and running I'm sure clothes have to be feeling loser.. or your just holding your own against the Arbys & pancakes. Either way.. winning :-)

Yeah, Bella, I think I lose 5 pounds every morning. Unfortunately, I gain 5 pounds each evening. The obvious choice is to do away with evenings, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet. I'll try to lose 6 pounds every morning and see how that works. :)
