Last night was my granddaughter's 2nd birthday so we had a little party for her. Needless to say, there was cake...friend or foe? Depends on the situation I guess. I knew I would have a piece so I didn't even attempt to tell myself that I wouldn't but I had 1 small piece and that was it! It was a shining moment for me. :-)
Today has been a good day however it amazes me how my body craves sugar after that one piece last night. So crazy! Suck it up buttercup because you had your treat last night!!

You are strong, you only had one piece so that was good. Life is about choices and you made a sensible one.

This site says I should be eating 1800 calories a day. I can't believe, I would be scare to death to eat that much. I've been to other sites and they say 1275. calories. What's up with that and the big difference

FS RDI's almost always seem to be high, according to the many posts. Mine said 1800 I set it for 1200 as that was closer to other calculators. I can't even eat 1800 calories!! To get there I have to drink those calories, part of why I gained weight used to drink them.

I see a dietician every couple of months and she suggested 1700 calories for me. I almost passed out so we agreed on 1600 which I still find high but I'll stick with it until my next appointment.
Sugar really is the devil!! Ugh.

Really it s the devil...I do use a little in my homemade bread, it helps the yeast work using whole grains and a bit in my tea sometimes instead of the chemicals. I might try the coconut sugar I saw today in my tea, have to buy some first.

Let me know how the coconut sugar is if you decide to try it. I'm curious to know what it tastes like and if it's a good substitue for sugar. Thanks!
