I don't remember which of our lovely members gave me the tip of recording my food intake before I actually eat it, but if it was you, please comment so I can give you all the credit! I'v been doing this for the last two days and it has really helped me to make changes to some (just some) of the choices I make and it is allowing me to see what things will "cost" me before I eat them. Thanks again!

It wasn't me - but this is something I try to do. Not successful at pre-recording every day but I'm generally thinking it thru. The days that I don't record and don't plan are the days that I tend to make choices that aren't the best. I agree that it's very helpful to see the net result of what you're planning and adjust BEFORE the calories are spent. BTW - love your concept of "cost". It really is like $$ in many ways. Some days you know going in you're going to overspend. Other days, you know you can be more budget minded.

Vickie, I am a planner by nature and I am sometimes totally lost when I don't plan or my plan falls through, so doing this was a great way to enhance my planning even more. YES Socolova, it did help tremendously, great advice! Now I'm sure there will be times when I'll just say screw it, I'm going to eat this anyway, like my blueberry banana buttermilk pancakes I plan to make for breakfast tomorrow, but at least I can adjust my intake for the rest of the day :-)

Thanks for mentioning it Lhill928. I've done that unconsciously before and not realized that it was helpful. Now I might do it intentionally more often. !!

Lhill, I'm a planner by nature too ;-) As you mentioned, there are some days I know going in I'm going to have something indulgent. It helps plan the day and it allows me a little more freedom to actually enjoy the indulgence! Enjoy those pancakes ;-) You've budgeted for them!
