Deborahg382's Journal, 05 July 2014

I was on a two month stall. And I tried many approaches to break the stall. The one that worked was:

1. Increase fat to 80-85%
2. Lower protein to 60 grams or less
3. Count every carb including fiber, and sugar alcohols
4. Keep carbs 20 grams or less

I started this new way of eating June 23rd, by June 25th I lost my first .8 lbs. And I have been slowly losing weight since the 25th of June.

I am going to see my children in August, and I wanted to reach 210 by the time I had to leave. I am so excited TODAY I weigh 210.4 lbs. And I have all month to continue to lose weight. I am getting close to being out of 200's.

When I got married I weighed 180 lbs and I slowly gained to 249.6 lbs.

It feels wonderful to reach that mini goal, to be able to shed weight all while eating butter, and steak, eggs and bacon. Delicious avocados and sour cream. I am so not deprived. I can even eat pizza, crust and all because of the new low carb crust recipe I found. Even eating out is not a challenge..

I love low carb high fat!

I did a most happy of happiest dances today by my scale!

I wanted to end this by saying this new loss and new low puts my total loss at 39.2 lbs. I almost have hit my 40 lb loss mark. :)

Whoop whoop.. <3

Thanks Draglist! I'm super excited. I stepped on the scale in disbelief. I keep expecting it to stop... but so far I'm dropping little by little. :)

Wow, pizza, would you share that low carb crust with us...have not had pizza since the 25th May...Are you on Atkins Plan, I am and I find I am never hungry or craving things which I am not suppose to eat... I sometimes can't even get to the RDI that I am suppose to be eating...just too much food... I was doing excellent the first month but now I find I am stopping at .02 lbs every week and can't seem to get a better scale weigh in... but I am not giving up NO way...I am so wanting to break out of the 180;s , nearly there, sitting at 181.2.... want to do a happy dance soon..lol......... good luck, you will succeed also have fun with your children in August. :)

Here is the recipe for the 1 Net carb pizza. I am doing low carb, high fat- so yes Atkins. But I count fiber carbs too and sugar alcohols. They say you don't have to count them, but I was stalled so I count everything. 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded 4 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded 3 eggs 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon basil, optional Toppings of your choice * Mix the cheeses, eggs, garlic powder and basil well. Line a 16-inch pizza pan with parchment paper or nonstick foil. Evenly spread the cheese mixture in the pan, almost to the edge, making it as thin as possible. Bake at 450º 15-20 minutes until golden brown. I suggest checking it after about 10 minutes. If it's getting very dark on the edges and top, turn the oven down to 400º and continue baking until brown all over and no longer pale on the bottom. Pat off any excess grease then add your toppings. Keeping the oven rack in the center position, put the pizza under the broiler until the toppings are hot and any cheese you added is melted and bubbly, about 4-5 minutes. Makes 8 servings Can be frozen * You may want to sauté your mushrooms, peppers and other vegetable toppings before using because the pizza will only be baked briefly with the toppings on. I also recommend pre-warming any meat toppings as well. I put all of my toppings, except the sauce and cheese, in a big skillet and heated them up together. Crust only: Per Serving: 176 Calories; 14g Fat; 12g Protein; 1g Carbohydrate; trace Dietary Fiber; 1g Net Carb

I had to bake mine for 25 minutes and it was crispy.. loved it. And its 1 Net carb per pizza slice of crust. Toppings may change the carb content depending on what you put on.
