HealthyBabs's Journal, 20 February 2011

Happy Blessed Sunday! Yesterday was a weird day. Spent the day visiting my parents, dad's recuperation is going well, probably another week or so in the nursing home for therapy until he can get home. Went to Whole Foods on the way home to pick up some groceries, they had some beautiful fresh sole so we got a bunch of it for dinner.

On the way home, the winds were horrible and after the hour drive as we got into town there were trees and telephone poles down everywhere and couldn't get to our home. Decided to get some dinner out and ended up at Chinese restaurant in town that did not lose power. Now, there is good and bad chinese and this place is excellent. I can order with no salt or MSG added as all food is made to order...no steam table stuff here. I think I did OK all in all. Got home and no electricity, so no TV or internet until this morning. We worked on a huge puzzle together and then hit the hay early. I journaled as best as I could this morning not paying too much attention to the salt for the day since I ordered it all without.

So, it is sole for dinner tonight... going to prepare very simply with a quick pan saute w/lemon, shallots & capers-smashed red potato & broccoli on the side.

Washing machine is going full force since 7am, grocery shopping is done, going to do some meal prep for during the week and journal accordingly, taxes need to be finished, guess the house cleaning will have to wait until hubby can get to it during the week.

Snow tonight expected, guess I will be working from home Monday.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

So glad that your dad is doing so well and hopefully home next week. The winds here were horrible as well yesterday and bitter cold. It would go right through us. We didn't lose power but sure thought is would happen at any moment. We are usually the first ones to lose it too. I love sole. It has such a sweet taste compared to some fish. Care to share a piece?lol Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.:)

I don't know about you, but I am so ready for Spring! At least you made it home safely. Good luck with those cravings. I have been having them like crazy this past week too. I so want to get back on track. If you have any tips, please share them.

Wow, that weather sounds horrid. We had winds also, then rain, and now the temps are falling back into the 40's and 30's....it was nice while it lasted!
