My boy's home:), and its such a treat having my family all together! I even cooked… yes, me who hates to! Nothing tough… pulled pork… but a fav of both my boys & now my oldest's girlfriend who joined us too. I know I'm mentioned it before, but while I did cook when my boys were growing up, I happily retired from it (mostly) when they both left for college. I'm happy with soup or salad or a prepared meal which is what I get for DH when he's home for dinner. Luckily, I have many healthy choices here including Whole Foods, Trader Joes and several gourmet & health food stores that offer them. Yes, another example of how spoiled I am… or as I choose to think of it, how i am taking care of me!
Cooking I also realized is a trigger for me, as I had to pause several times in the process to ask "am I hungry?". Also, while DS's flight was on time (DH had gone from work to pick him up), they hit horrible traffic getting home. So, dinner was delayed from 6:30ish to after 7:30, which led to some snacking to fend off the hunger pangs. Progress again, but not perfection, although each time I eventually found my pause & my plate.
Today, I'll go spin shortly, then enjoy the day with my family & church tonight. We have no real plans, so I'll mindfully be flexible to what unfolds. But, first, I'll pray --
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen.
And I'll pray, breathe, journal, log, & express my way through this one day, and each one meal, moment, bite, thought & emotion. I'm today, as everyday, so grateful for each of Adorable you, my family and IRL friends, and having the health & wealth to live this life I love, especially having the boys, DH & I all together for the next few days! xoxox
