Shellsbells 140's Journal, 23 February 2014

It is Sunday evening, I have eaten well today and stuck to my goals, did my heated yoga and my dog walk... but this is where it can go downhill if I let it.

I have eaten my dinner and therefore I need to not eat anything until tomorrow.... should be done!!! I will go to bed early in order to avoid it but I have to break the habit of eating treats on a Sunday night..... that's for maintenance whenever I get there.

You know, you can have the occasional evening treat... if you make room for it in your calorie intake. If it's something that might spike your insulin and make your bs drop, go to bed right after you eat it. Maybe not the best choice, but if it means having a little something to get you through from time to time, it's better than waiting until you're ready to crack.

Can you eat something like a great yogurt? No fat but 10 to 12 grams of protein

A super desert. No fat yogurt ( make mine from skin milk) add a tablespoon of unsweetened applesauce or mashed banana or other fruit. Or if you have not sworn off sugar completely a heaping teaspoon of apple butter.

Have to watch out for yogurt. Yoplait has mor sugar per serving that froot loops. It's what I call a wildcard food because each brand can be entirely different. If you've ever had unsweetened yogurt you'll know why the sweeten it. It's good if you get the plain yogurt and add your own fruit to it.

Exactly northern, I make my own, some currently in my yogurt maker using skim milk and starter is from my previous batch-- that's all. Then I add my own fruit etc. Use it in my smoothies, in cooking. The commercial ones are mostly loaded with sugar or sweetener.

Great ideas guys n gals.... yeah I know the feeling... have learned the hard way that if I deprive I end up binging.... so yeah, it's to really look inside and say.... right, what can I have that gives me satisfaction with the least amount of calories. I ended up having a small fist of nuts and that got me through. Am fasting until 12pm so really looking forward to my lunch!!!

Plain greek yogurt is good in scrambled eggs, baking, and or adding own flavorings like fruit, vanilla, cocoa, cinnamon, honey, or other flavorings. If you really, really want that baked potato, use plain yogurt or mix some plain yogurt with dried parsley, dried onion, or other spices for your own topping instead of butter or sour cream.
