My guess is that your body has gone into famine mode because you aren't eating enough. Everything I've read says you should take in between 1200 and 1700 calories just

Again, I urge you to read the Atkins book so that you know how to do Atkins "right." You are not supposed to count calories, only carbs. You calorie intake is way too low and that is why you are not losing the weight you are expecting to. Please stop this as you are going to quickly get frustrated and decide that this diet does not work. If you don't think you can take the time to read at least parts of the book, try going to www.atkins.com for information on how to do Atkins right.

Yes - always get enough calories - I too often get around 700 calories but one must get at least 800, preferably at least 1200 a day. COUNT CARBS! If they're under 20 a day for an extended period you will lose. I know on Atkins you don't feel hungry, it is very common but you must eat, I have been guilty of the same problem in the past so don't feel bad about it and just eat more. Get your carbs up to nearer to 20 too maybe. You'll have more energy to exercise more also! Best of luck and take slease's advice and re-read the Atkins book. It's OK to lose only a pound a week but you're going about it the wrong way. I urge you to take a Multivitamin too, and make sure you're getting enough potassium also, it would be hard to believe you're getting enough potassium eating so little in food! :)

You need to eat more calories. You are starving your body and slowing your metabolism. Please read the ATkins book. This is not a starvation diet. Some people don't lose because they don't eat enough on this diet because it controlls your hunger so well.

Just to put my two cents worth in...everyone is right! You have to feed the metabolism. You aren't eating enough food. It may be counter-intuitive to eat more food to lose weight but it is very true. Your body thinks it is starving so it refuses to let go of the weight. If you want to count carbs and calories, then determine what your BMR is. You can easily google BMR for an online calculator. That will give you a better idea of the number of calories you should consume each day.
