squigglywiggly's Journal, 04 January 2011

Wasn't going to post this and was going to wait and see if it is water weight and if it would be better tomorrow but here goes anyway LOL.

At least tomorrow it might be down possibly. Had a big cry yesterday about how restricted my food choices are, it was also extremely hot and I haven't slept well since Sept 4th so no wonder I lost it!

Today I am trying to have a better frame of mind. Drinking heaps of water (got bad at that lately) and making sure I eat regularly. Part of my problem is when I don't eat within about 3 hours my blood sugar drops and then I get moody and irrational and crazy - kinda like bad pms LOL

Thinking about preplanning my food for the week but I have never been a big planner so I dunno how I would go with this...

212.3 lb Lost so far: 9.3 lb.    Still to go: 69.0 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

You can do this. I have what they call "reactive hypoglycemia". I find that when I restrict my carbs too much it makes me feel a bit loopy. I also have to eat every 2 1/2 hours or I get lightheaded. Try to plan your meals at regular times if you can. Like 6am,9pm,12pm,3pm,6pm etc. It makes it easier to remember. Hope that helps some.

Yup that could be it. If I let it go on I kinda shut down and even have trouble walking and talking and basic functioning. I then start refusing to eat at all, pick arguments etc. Totally opposite behaviour to what I am normally like.

Hey, Squiggs! Sorry that you had such a miserable day yesterday, but I think that you probably earned it....you have been under a lot of stress since September, and it is perfectly understandable that you finally lost it for a minute there! I would have gone 'round the bend long ago!!! lol Hope that today is going better for you! Hugs, sis!

Thanks Stef. Yeah just a tad stressful the last 4 months LOL. I am super tired today from the heatwave we have been having off and on but apart from that I am in a much better frame of mind. Poor hubby wore it yesterday though! I keep losing track of how many glasses of water I have had LOL!

I can't plan my food for an entire week, either. But I usually have to have a general plan, at least for meat, a couple days ahead. Personally, I think a good cry once in awhile is a great stress reliever....and heaven knows you've had some big time stress! Glad to see that today was a better day for you.

Squiggs, glad that today was better for you! And hope that tomorrow is better than today! I keep forgetting that it is summer where you are. lol

We are here for you Squiggs. I know what you mean about having to eat often or the blood sugar drops. It's not fun at all. With the stress you have been under, it's no wonder you want a cry from time to time. If I were you, I would probably be crying every day. You are one stonge chickie to be going through that all the time. Keep your chin up and hang in there. You can do this. Vent on us if you need to. Remember, we are all trying to do the very same thing you are hon. Now that the stress from the holidays are over, I will send a prayer your way that things straighten out for you. Try to have a good day my friend. BIG HUGS going your way.:)

Hi Squiggs, like LauPug (Laurie) says and everyone else, we are here for you. I hear you on the blood sugar thing. I get very depressed when my blood sugar isn't regulated. Just realized that over the holidays - I've been very good in my mood lately but overindulging a bit over the holidays made my blood sugar off and I had a miserable day. Hope you feel better dear. You are under a lot of stress - wish there was some way to relieve that but unfortunately its out of our control. Big hugs from all your FS buddies.

I am glad too Stef! Today is a good day so far. Haven't felt a quake in over 24 hours! LOL. Yup it surely is summer here. A hot and muggy one at times but each summer's day means winter is one day closer ROFL!

I am sure you would be strong too Laurie. Thanks for your prayer and your kind words. I will take up the offer to vent when needed. I hate to be too negative on here in case people get sick of reading it LOL. But I do find the encouragement helps a lot. I hope you are feeling a bit better today.

Thanks for the hugs Sarahsmum! That is the crazy thing, I didn't overindulge once LOL. In fact on Christmas Day I underindulged cause a lot of people forget I was gluten free so there was very little I could actually eat. Stupidest Christmas lunch ever! ROFL! Just as well it is more about people than food huh?

Hey Squiggs, don't worry about being negative - you're just being real...and that's the only way you can get the support you need. You already know you need to eat regularly...and you know you are gluten intolerant (apparently)...so you need to be working on that. Something small, every 2-3 hours...and faithful to keep up with it. You will feel sooooo much better! (and how come you didn't bring one or two things to this stupid Christmas lunch?) I have a sister in law that eats only Gluten Free...and she has shown me that is WAY harder to stick to than Low Carb ever dreamed of being!!! I will be thinking of you this week...do a little more thinking about how you can start planning something every couple of hours??? Sure would make me feel better to know you aren't loopy too often! LOL!!! Love.

Thanks JS! Yeah eating gluten free is a pain in the whoopsie! We did the pork as we had two in the freezer and were keen to get rid of them. And I get an upset tummy when I eat pork so I stay away from it. The nickel free part of my diet killed off any idea of salads etc and because of low carbing it meant desserts were out. And it was too hot to make a big effort anyway LOL. Yesterday I made sure I ate regularly and I wasn't loopy at all! made a nice change LOL. Thanks for your support and encouragement!
