I've decided to use the exercise default of sleeping/resting instead of listing my exercise, unless I actually "exercise". Obviously, I'm not burning all the calories the exercise journal lists or I would be losing faster.

Yeah, I decided to do the same thing. It seemed a little over the top on the amount of calories it said I was burning lol :) Hope your doing well today, Johanne!

I also can't be bothered with the exercise journal, it just seems totally off to me.

I am doing well, thanks. I hope you are too. It seems off to me too. I must only be burning about 500 extra calories a day, instead of the 2000+ that the exercise journal says. It might help me keep my head together better if I SEE that 500 and try to "actually" expand it.

I log my exercise a a matter of habit. However, I know I need more net negative carbs than it says or I won't lose weight.

I think it does to.
Alot of my exercises I do like with the Wii I put the actual amount of
calories that the Wii says. And list it under (other)I know for sure
that I have burned those right...Bren

I don't log my exercise either and, contrary to popular belief ;-), I sometimes do quite a bit of it at home (cardio is my biggest problem area). I find that calories consumed seem to line up fairly logically for me, but the calories burned often don't seem to compute as clearly. I cannot say that I have ever tracked exercise calories consistently though.

Hi Johanne! Long time! I just wanted to throw in there that I think the exercise thing is fairly accurate, but in my case, I don't think I burn calories quite the way I'm supposed to. The numbers don't add up and it can't just be me. I have a Bodybugg, which is supposedly something like 90 or 95% accurate as far as calories burned, and I thought I was really pretty good at recording food and calories ingested - and yet the numbers didn't seem to work for me. I think mine is a metabolism issue. So anyway, the point is - just do what works for you. If you eat less by recording fewer calories burned, then do it that way. Me? I'm chomping at the bit to begin exercising once again. It's been way too long. I'm cleared for exercise as of the 20th of this month and I BETTER remember how to do it! lol... Good luck to you in this new year!

RWL, I'm glad you've been cleared! That is so cool. I figure there must be something wrong with me, not necessarily the site's numbers. I may not move as much when I do desk work, or housework, or sitting as other people do. I don't know that I will eat less, or that I should. I just think it will more accurately record what is actually happening as far as the "one pound a week" average I seem to be losing. As for remembering, just remember, bits of you have been moved around a little and snugged up and may need to be retrained/flexed. LOL.
Info, I believe you exercise. You've lost to much not to have been doing something right. :-) Hugs my friend!

Bren, I asked Santa for a Wii fit, but he forgot.

Awww I'm sorry, when is your birthday? Leave hints for then. Some one
should hear. I know you would love one....Bren

RWL, I just hopes it keeps going that way. If it does, I should hit my ultimate goal around Christmas, 2012. Bren, my birthday is in June, but I really doubt if Santa will be around then, even with hints. LOL.
