Start Weight:(18 May 10) 200.0 lb
Current Weight:(03 Aug 12) 152.6 lb
Goal Weight:137.0 lb
following: Runesinger's Ancient European Diet
performance: losing 0.3 lb a week

I started on FatSecret with a goal of losing about 10% of my body weight to reduce my blood pressure. I am challenged by a number of food allergies. Now that I've lost 55 lbs I am in the maintenance phase of my diet. Maintenance is just as important as the weight loss phase. It does no good to lose all that weight if you just gain it all back.

I am following a variation of the Paleolithic Diet, but that isn't enough for moderate weight loss. In maintenance, I'm still counting calories and making some moderate portion control. Healthy food is important, but don't eat too damn much of that healthy food.

Starting Weight: 200 lbs. Dress Size 20
1st Goal 180 lbs - Goal Reached: 7/11/2010, Blood pressure down 21 points! Dress Size 18
2nd Goal 160 lbs - Goal Reached: 11/4/2010, Dress Size 12
Stretch Goal 145 lbs - Achieved 4/22/2011, Dress Size 10, blood pressure in normal range

I live in the main berry-producing area of the country, so if you see a lot of berries in my meals, it's just because I'm eating local produce.

I also live near the Pacific Ocean, so I eat a lot of fish and shellfish. I have all kinds of healthful ways to cook fish (i.e. not breaded and fried!)

Regrets Anyone?
For me, the real temptations are the sweets. Sometimes I can't resist, and totally blow out my calories count.

Regrets Anyone?
It seems like after the holidays, there is a new surge in activity at FatSecret. Holiday temptations and over-indulgence get people into the mood to start losing weight again.

Anyone feeling the regret?

Loose Skin
I agree that losing weight slowly is the best way to avoid the loose skin problem. It took me about a year to lose 50 lbs. I didn't have a loose skin problem, and I'm 56 years old.

Who's sick of chicken?
Don't forget the other white meat - pork. Pork can be very lean if you get the right cuts, like pork loin.

New here
This website really has the tools you need to lose weight. I would suggest that you start keeping an accurate food diary right away, even if you don't make the best choices all the time. It will help you see your problem areas. That way you can find better alternatives and avoid junky empty calories.

Count your calories and make your calories count.
