Well I have changed my diet to Atkins, seems to working well. I have been weighing myself in the evenings when I am using Wii Fit, sigh, my evening weight is a bit higher. Never the less, it is still a guide to see how well I am progressing. I am finding starting atkins that I am not feeling all that well, well I am not too sure how to explain, it is not that I am feeling ill or anything, it is just that over the last few yrs I was eating low fat (or trying to), lots of veggies and small portions of meat. And now I am meating out! lol. Anyways, I will surive! Stay warm!!

Some things to expect when starting atkins is for the first few days.. you'll have sugar/carb withdrawls. It'll take anywhere from couple days to a week to get out of your system. You might even have headaches, muscle cramps, being a little scattered brained, etc.. This is also called Induction Flu... but don't worry, it doesn't last long and you'll know that it's working. Afterwards.. you'll feel wonder and in control!! Good Luck!! =)

Lori is right. It goes away after 3-7 days. Drink lots of water and that will help. You will feel a lot better once you get over that initial feeling. It is part of the carb withdrawls. Make sure to read the Atkins book a few times to understand these kinds of subtle symptoms to reassure yourself. Good luck!

Thanks, I had skimmed through it. But last night I was rereading it.It is an older copy of the book, but I had just bought a newer one with a bit extra info with it(on Ebay). I look forward to seeing what this one will offer me.

Personally, I think the older book is better. Throw that new one out!!! :) After Dr. Atkins died, the people that took over his company changed a lot of the guidelines of the diet. The "true" Atkins diet is in your older book. The newer books encourage eating more processed foods, etc. Mostly because they were now into selling "Atkins products". And while these new products can be a life saver sometimes, they shouldn't be used nearly as much as they encourage in the newer books. Another suggestion - Be sure to take your vitamins. They will help a lot with your transition to a healthier you - and make you feel better sooner!!
