I'm starting to feel better… I'm sure it was all the wonderful well wishes in my journal yesterday that lifted my spirit! So, time to get back to the holiday prep. The boys have been great, my youngest helping me put up the rest of the decorations & running some errands for me, and the oldest trying to do what he can one handed to help out or at least stay out of the way! And his girlfriend has been a gem -- bringing/making him food (although, damn it, could she stop with the homemade cookies!… lucky him , though, that she likes to cook & bake as there is little of that going on here otherwise), helping him organize his room -- still from him moving back home in the fall, and keeping him company as he's been homebound & still in quite a bit of pain.
Today, I'll go for a light workout, which I know will help exercise addicted me feel better, get some more groceries (we go through them so much quicker with the boys & the GF around), poinsettias to finish the decorating and then get the monthly book work done this afternoon. I'm really, really trying to take it & think about it one day at a time, but thats so hard as we count down to Christmas, so just planning to get the cards & wrapping done over the weekend, then food purchased & prepped next week. Hope all your holiday prep is going well & not driving you too crazy.
I may need to pray for serenity multiple times each day, or each hour, so I'll begin my day that way --
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen.
And, I'll remind myself to take this time leading up to the holidays, one day, meal, moment, bite & emotion at a time, and praying, breathing, logging, journaling & expressing myself along the way. I'm so, so very grateful for each of you & our wonderful FS home, my family & IRL friends, having the boys home with me & our family together for the holidays, and starting to feel better so that I can get back to living this life I love! xoxox
