POWENCH's Journal, 06 December 2008

I have not allowed myself too many "Free" days, but today is my husbands 60th birthday party. I am doing a huge dinner for a ton of people...smoked beef and pork ribs, baked potatoes, homemade rolls, and salads from everyone who comes. There will be alchol involved and I want my husband to have a great time, so I am going to NOT stress about food like I have been doing.

I went out to breakfast with my friends who are helping me with the mountains of meat, and I used almost all my points for the day! Whatever...I will get back on it tomorrow...this is after all, real life, and I don't want to be healthy and unhappy.

I am the party girl....and today I am gona be the party girl. Hopefully there will be dancing. :>)

Exactly!! You know, normal people do eat at parties. And they don't gain weight necessarily. I think part of our problem is the psychological reaction to the eating. It isn't the party. It's the few days after the party that's the problem. Enjoy!! Eat!! That's what the food is there for. And try to taste stuff instead of eating everything to the point of being overly full. Do it in a calculated way, to enjoy every bite. Then come back here and write your thoughts and get feedback. And go back on the diet. Lean on us. There's a great support system here. It's working for me.

God yes!! I had fried yams yesterday. BUT I'm back on the bandwagon now... raw veggies and fresh fruit, all in small portions... Here's to real life! 8)
