This is a pic of a lake in Yosemite that I took this summer.

I'm a mom with two boys, ages 8 and 10. And I have a wonderful hubby, who would love me to be thinner but understands the struggle. I've loved food and have struggled with food ever since I can remember. I want so much to be my ideal weight. For me it's a matter of concentration, of remembering the feeling of wanting to be skinnier.
My starting weight is 167. I've been within five pounds of this weight, up or down, for the last three years or so. But the higher level, in the 170's is the heaviest I've ever been. I'm tired of trying, succeeding, and slipping, always the same pattern. I'm hopeful that this site will help me. Thanks!!


UPDATE: On 12/16/08
I am "starting over" with this whole thing. The writing on here really helps, but I need to stick to those points and not go over them because I don't want to lose weight so slowly. It takes away my motivation. If I'm really sticking to the points and not losing, I'll look at it as a plateau. But right now I am just plain eating too much and having too many off days with pig-out sessions. So I am starting over, and I am going to record everything!


UPDATE: On 1/2/09
I am starting over again. But this time with a vengeance. I'm going to conquer this "thing." No more excuses!!!! I gained back about 3.5 pounds from three days of arduous eating. But that's last year! And I'm putting it behind me! No more!!

My Goals:

160 December 18, 2008 weight 159.7 (As of December 24, 2008, I have gone up and not seen below 160 except for the one time. I will amend the date when I reach my 160 goal for a more sustainable period.)

Pear shaped bodies
Okay, all my FS friends, I just read something interesting. Now, I am not a pear. I'm an apple. But I just read that the new medical opinion is that pear shaped bodies are actually healthy! There is something about the fat being stored in the "tush" that actually lowers the risk of certain illnesses, like diabetes. I thought that info. might make some people happy!!!

FS glitch?
Is anyone else out there having any problems with their communication capabilities on here? Some of my e-mail messages are not getting sent. And sometimes my responses or posts, et cetera, are not showing up on the Community board. Anyone else having problems? Am I doing something wrong?
