Cindy Thompson's Journal, 24 November 2010

Still excited about breaking 200 pounds. Still for my height I have a long way to go. Keep on truckin' though. No matter how you spend your holiday or weekend, enjoy. We will be celebrating Thanksgiving this Thursday. This is my favorite holiday because we all can say what we are thankful for. I have to remember to count my blessing and not worry about what I can't change. Thank God with his help, I can change what I put in my mouth. The scale does not keep me hostage it just reminds me to stay on track. This time of year we need to find comfort in our relationships and be comfortable with ourselves instead of food. Ya'll knew that. Have a good one.

I hope you have a great Thanksgiving holiday, Cindy. You're already in the spirit of it. And kudos again for breaking the 200 lb barrier. That is really an achievement to be proud of!

That's wonderful! Making a breakthrough like that feels really good, doesn't it?

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy your breakthrough. I hope I'll be joining you in a couple of weeks. I'll be thinking of you enjoying your turkey (In Canada we celebrated Thanksgiving last month).

How cold is it in Canada? Parts of the United States are getting down right freezing. Montana...the northeast...Anyone hear about how cold it will be for the Macy's day parade or is that the McDonald's parade now? I am looking forward to watching it from my television with my grandaughter this year. Last year they went in person and it was very cold.

Depends on the part of Canada. I'm in Southern Alberta and it's been downright frigid with wicked windchills. Right now it's 8.6 F but with the windchill it's -7.6 F. And it's warmed up! For the past few days it was about -31 F and sometimes colder. I'll have to see if they show the parade up here. I believe they do.

As Momto2boys said, it depends on where in Canada you are. Im in centeral Sask (right in the middle of the bald fricken prairies) and right now it is -5.8F, yesterday it was -22F with out the windchill. so the -5.8 almost feels like spring lol In january we can get as low as -40F before the windchill, with the windchill we have reached -58F or colder (those are the times you stay in your house and pray that you don't loose power lol. I believe they show the Macy's day parade up here, I know mom gets it for sure but she has a dish so she gets tons more channels that I do.
