GlennM's Journal, 24 November 2008

I got devastating news this morning - a former co-worker who worked here in my building at the dining room passed away a few days ago. I worked with her at a restaurant. She was young - only 27. She was one of my bosses years back when I worked there part-time. She did have diabetes. Her name was Amy. The tragic thing was her best friend at work Jenny passed away two years ago after complications from giving birth after her third child and she and Jenny always joked they were like twins as they were born one day apart the same year. I miss them both, I worked with them both for years. I am so upset about this. Somewhere I hope they're together enjoying each other's company as they always were laughing together having a good time. Amy had weight issues after the diabetes diagnosis at about age nineteen but she wasn't overly heavy... enjoy life everyone... every day is a gift...( I worked with her from 1999 to about 2002).

Sorry for your loss. I just lost my cousin 3 weeks ago. Life truly is a gift, not a privelege.

I'm so sorry to hear that. It is so tragic at such a young age. I will pray for her, her family, and all the people that her short life touched.

Thank you all for your kind words about Amy - she was truly a gentle, kind young woman. I haven't spoken to her in a long time. I wish now I'd gone downstairs and just said "Hi" once as she'd worked in my building for three or four years. I never expected this. So I will write a once dear friend a letter tonight to tell them how important they were to me once - and how much they helped me out so I won't have regrets as I've been thinking about writing/not writing. Otherwise doing well. Sad day, gray sky, cold. Hoping for better days ahead...diet going well. :)
