Day 468- Bragg's Organic Unfiltered Apple Cider vinegar- That is my big secret on continuing to lose weight along with a hyped up workout/training program. (Some of you may know about this stuff already!) This stuff WORKS for so many things it is amazing.

I originally started drinking about 2 tbsp. in a glass of water after a run or workout to help with the recovery process. I did this after hearing from an Ultra Runner saying it helped him so much. After getting over the taste the first few times it was amazing how well this stuff works for sore muscles. Shortly after doing this I heard on another podcast about how if you take it 2-3 times a day it helps with weight loss, so I started to read up on this stuff. Come to find out it helps/cures a lot of things and it is a NATURAL CLEAN REAL FOOD! If I can remember to take it 2-3 times a day, I do notice my cravings go down, I have more energy, my mood is better and my movements are more regular.

Things I did not expect: I read it helps to remove skin warts (If you get them, you always will and most likely so does you mom, read up on it.) so I put a little on a band aid and sleep with it on overnight, did this 2-3 days in a row and by the 3rd day the wart turned BLACK! About a week later, it pealed off and no signs of it returning.

Another, as I get older I have had skin blemishes appear, I just always thought they were age/sun spots and part of life? Well after taking this stuff for about a month, my skin started to clear up in more ways than one. The blemishes have lightened or disappeared. I use to get acne on my upper legs, backs of my forearms and back that I assumed was from sweating (?) and that has cleared up. One last thing about my skin, ever sense I can remember I use to get these little bumps all over my thighs and back of my arms, like goose bumps I guess, they are gone!

There are many more claims about this stuff if you read up on it. Reduces colds, hangovers, carp intake, drinking, coffee and many more.

I am not saying this stuff is a miracle cure, but it sure seems to help in many ways, I just have to remember to drink it! MAKE SURE YOU GET: ORGNAIC UNFILTERED UNPASTEURIZED APPLE CIDER VINEGARE WITH THE MOTHER! There are other organic apple cider vinegars out there, bust must of them are filtered (Hint: the one Trader Joes sells is pasteurized, not good).

Update on my training next....

Busy Saturday this weekend: Running a local 5K, coaching a soccer game, then off to my 20th Class Reunion (an allllll day event) then Reunion Dinner/Party that night.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to look into that. Just helping with sore muscles would be great!

Interesting. Thanks for sharing your experiences with cider! I think I'll give it a try.

I'm totally getting a bottle!!! I have those stupid little "goosebump/blemish" little things on the backs of my arms and they drive me nuts and then I pick at them... If it can make those go away, I'll give it a shot!!

It also works for acid reflux. The only thing that helped me.

mars2kids, I also take a Chlorella tablet after a workout, it seems to help also, unless your getting protein from something else post workout? erika2633, it took about a month, but things cleared up. I keep screwing up and missing drinking it while I am home. BTW, if the taste bothers you, put a little raw pure honey in it and help your immune system :-) (Be sure your using real honey and not HFCS that most have in them.)

i bought it too, but the taste does bother me. They now make juices with it-grape juice with a shot of it in it. It's tasty

Hhhhmmmm....I have my doubts. I used to have these bumbs you are talking about, but they have disappeared with clean eating. Just eliminating processed foods works wonders. And I get the same effect as you describe from the vinegar by drinking freshly pressed organic lemonjuice in warm water. Have fun at the reunion :)

Not that I am here to debate, but if you read back through my journal I have not eaten processed foods for over a year now and my skin never cleared up until I started the ACV. I stopped taking it for a few weeks and the acne came back. You may want to do some reading up on it, there are studies out there that show the effects. Most of them are aimed at weight loss, that show just taking it daily has a high chance of reducing weight on it's own. A lot of it has to do with the fact that it changes your body PH, the same effect you get with the lemon juice (or you could use oranges). Why not just eat the lemons or an orange and get the fiber also? ACV is a base while the lemon is an acid. There are plenty of debates on where you body PH should be. The added benefit of the ACV over the lemon juice is there are other 'good' enzymes from the fermentation process. REAL fermented foods are great for the body.

LOL...I didn't mean to debate either, I was only voicing an opinion. But I have done some reading into it. As I keep on having some issues with my digestive system.....I will give it a go. I have ordered my 1st bottle & will keep you posted about the results :)

If it will clear up the back acne I developed for some reason after I started lifting weights and eating clean I am on board. Makes me upset that I had never before had that problem. If I lose a little more I guess that is just a perk!

Your journal sounds like a great infomercial! LOL WAY TO GO! I heard about the ACV a few months ago, thought the guy was nuts, but still looked it up, i think you are on to something. I bought it then used it in my washer forgetting why I bought it LOL. I will get some more! I've really cleaned up my diet too and am taking it to the next clean step as soon as my current grocerys are gone. Acne all my life, have a little rosea on my face, have a few of those bumps you are talking about. I will give it another try again. Oh, and my acne is all clear the last few days. I haven't had dairy in at least a week... Hmmm Thanks for the info..

I'm behind on this apple cider vinegar post lol... but I bought some of the braggs at the grocery store yesterday and drank it this morning. It was kinda gross but not as bad as I thought. I managed to chug it down with 8oz water as recommended on the bottle. Do you take yours straight or with the water? I feel like it would be easier to just have it alone as it would go down faster but I assume the water with it helps it get absorbed or something? Anyways, I have the acne on my back and it keeps getting worse, as well as the bumps, so I'm going to give it a try and see if it helps.

I drink it in water, after a few time you get use to the taste. You can add a little raw real honey and it is sweeter and you get the immune help. It is not recommended to drink as a shot, it will burn and may do damage to your system. Good luck!

Thanks! I was skeptical that I would 'get used to it' but the 2nd time around was much better and after the 3rd time drinking it, it's been just fine since then. I don't really mind it now at all. Crazy how the brain works lol
