Well, I'm not ready to talk about dieting yet, so may as well share my vacation photos with you a little at a time. We had a WONDERFUL time with our two sons!!!!! We stayed a night in Phoenix and had a business meeting, but then headed out. In Flagstaff, we turned on what my husband Jerry thought he remembered was the right road (didn't have an Arizona map with us!) and we very accidentally ended up at the GRAND CANYON!!!!! I got some great photos there, plus we were pleased to discover that we could pay only $10 for a lifetime parks pass for Jerry, so that was pretty cool, too! We bought a map at nearby Tusayan (sp?) so from there at least we knew where we were going! On the way to Page, we found ourselves trying to outrun a huge, black storm -- our stuff was covered with tarps in the back end, but we didn't want to test how waterproof it was. We got to Page about 7:30 p.m. -- just a little later than the noon arrival Jerry had planned, due to the long meeting and slight detour! Of course, because he had planned to arrive that early, he hadn't made a reservation at a hotel! We drove around to about six motels, and all were full to the brim . . . and we were noticing that many other people were doing the same thing we were, in a "feeding frenzy" trying to get a room for the night. Finally, we got a booklet with all the hotel phone numbers in it, and on my first try calling one of the oldest little places that was there when we went to the lake over 20 years ago, I managed to get a room, because my call "just happened" to immediately follow a call canceling a reservation! What a coincidence!! (God took good care of us!)
