Kathy Vanish's Journal, 07 May 2013

Well, My new zumba game came today. It's zumba rush. I ask going to try and get up tomorrow morning before starting work and give it a try. My back has been bothering me since I started traveling more and I think it is the lack of exercise. Exercise loosens me up in the morning. At least I hope that is it and I didn't pull a back muscle and if I can pull my lazy butt out of bed tomorrow I will find out.

I have stuck to my goal RDI pretty much this week. Yesterday I only got 900 calories, but I wasn't hungry. Today I have been fighting a migraine that has left me nauseous. I take aspirin and drink some coffee and it seems to be helping.

I haven't lost any weight since Saturday so I hope that the scale goes down tomorrow. It has been hard to tell because I am in the part of my cycle that leaves me bloated with a migraine and 5 to 10 pounds heavy. I have avoided the scale today because of that. If it can't say something nice I don't want to hear from it.

Kathy, do you know any yoga poses? It may benefit you a great deal to do a few stretches every time you stop the car. Is it your low back? These are good for at home: http://blog.gaiam.com/blog/top-6-yoga-poses-for-back-pain-slideshow/ http://www.fitsugar.com/Yoga-Sequence-Relieve-Lower-Back-Pain-20265058 When you're travelling, you can do some of these against the hood of your car, or a tree at the rest stop. Sorry to hear about the migraine. You might consider some chiropractic care for your ailments. They seem to be related to inflammation and could have some pinched nerves in your spine. As soon as I feel a migraine coming on (which is very rare for me anymore) I go directly to my chiropractor. Migraine averted. :) Barbara

Actually Barb I used to teach yoga an Pilates when I was in college. I will pull out my old books and look to see what might work. Thanks for the suggestion. I know that I get sciatica every once in a while. Started when I was pregnant, but when I exercise regularly my back cracks on its own and no problems. I don't like being cracked by someone else. I just don't have the guts to go.

Sounds like the cycle, just be glad it stays right there, and keep up the diet body tends to hover at this point. Water can help a little don't be afraid it will be better soon.

Thanks everyone. I probably shouldn't complain as it happens every month. I got another headache this afternoon. At least it was only a headache and not a migraine. A few Advil kicked it in the butt. I sometimes hate estrogen. I did my new zumba game this morning. A AWESOME workout. It also gave me the chiropractic adjustment my back needed so no more back pain. At least not until Friday when I have to travel again.
