Bank holidays throw me off...

Can't weigh in because my scales are at work and I'm not.

Had a weird conversation author my sister on Saturday evening.

She said "Well you are in Maintenance now so you can relax" to which I said truthfully "I've still got a stone and a half before I'm in maintenance" at which point she got an odd worried look on her face and changed the subject.

I asked her the next day what was wrong and she changed the subject again.

The thing is I'm still technically obese. At the lower end of it maybe compared to the morbidly obese I was before. Heck even when I hit my vital for the year I will still be on the very edge of overweight... And I plan to maintain at that for at least 6 months...

So her reaction is confusing me.

I should mention that while she has put on a bit of weight since having kids she is still skinny and unlike me her family are all sports obsessed.

Ah yes. I've had that too. People who know me say i looked gaunt and shouldn't lose anymore. Others i rarely see say how well and fit i look. I have noticed that since in maintenance the gaunt look is going as the skin has started to tighten up.

Yea but you are more than 50lb lighter than me mate. And unless you're far off average height that puts your bmi at normal. I'm still well into obese.

Oh yep i get that. I am in my bmi at nearly 6'2" but i got that loose face and neck skin which is what people look at on the way down...but its starting to go :)

It could be that you told her you still had that much to lose! My friends tried to tell me that I shouldn't try to lose more than 35 lbs, because they had NO idea how much I weighed when I started. (They figured I was around 190, not 225 in March!) So when I said, "No, my end goal is to lose 75 lbs!" They where shocked that I wanted to lose that much.

I'd ask one more time then let it go. And agree with Mik. Sometimes saying the number is misinterpreted.

Sigh,it's hard to ignore reactions no matter what.Personally will never forget the faces of my tacky friends telling me I was soo huge. But keep up all of your hard efforts and you will get to where you should be.Has she been helpful during this process or more of a thorn? She may appear thin but could very well have higher cholesterol (I rather see where it is than have it places where it could go undetected then there is a medical problem beyond just a few pounds or stone) like a few of my stick thin co workers.I have to hold off weighing every week it just is not helpful in my case to much of a nervous war.

Oh yes she has been entirely supportive! And even now it was only her maintenance comment and a split seconds facial expression when I replied too her. I doubt she would even have let me see that expression at all if she hadn't had a beer beforehand.

I am sure she wants you to be healthy, just the beer .
