crabby Kat's Journal, 23 April 2013

Well, today we start the cabbage soup diet. I threw all the ingredients in the old crockpot (I broke my newer one) last night on low; I stuffed so much in the pot that parts of the soup are al dente - I need to buy a new crock pot! I can use this one for serving already-cooked food at holiday gatherings.

Today we get to eat cabbage soup and fruit. Tomorrow is cabbage soup and vegetables, with a baked potatoes or yam with dinner, no fruit. Next day soup, vegetables, and fruit, no potato... you get the idea. This should be interesting; I don't want to feel weak with all my exercising. It'll only be for seven days, and I can always add some protein (we have two days where we can eat steak or chicken) . I'm going to buy some ground turkey breast that I like (&Fred Meyer has on sale) for my prorein source.

I have my follow -up visit with my podiatrist this morning. My foot is doing much better, but I have a lot of questions for her about what I can and cannot do so I can keep from tearing the fascia again. I want her opinion on WillPower and grace, a barefoot exercise class that I love but haven't been able to go to for quite a while.

Yesterday was interesting. I did my Zumba Gold class & was going to leave, but the next Zumba instructor (the one I don't like) showed up a mess then left in tears. The wonderful Aylin stayed & taught her second class in a row, so I stayed for another hour of Zumba. I went shopping, came home & did laundry, and so on. Burned a lot of calories yesterday!

Perhaps this week I'll finally ace the part of the challenge where I don't eat oreos or other no-nutrtional-value sweets!

My mom went on the cabbage soup diet a few years ago. Just to warn you.. it isn't pretty. I hope you have more than one bathroom. :)Best of luck! I would definitely add protein of some sort to keep your strength up.

Yea, I lasted a day and a half. I was in so much pain (from the gas from the cabbage) that I thought I was going to have to go the hospital. Good luck though! Everyone's different!

Good luck on the new diet and on saying no to oreos, that's hard to do!

I have some anti-gas tablets, a nice chewable mint flavor. This was my partner's (who's daughter lost a lot on it) idea, & I'm along for support.
