Day two of The Cabbage Soup Diet, and I broke, sort of. My body needs protein! It didn't help that after a day of deprivation, I actually gained 1/10 pound. That doesn't sound like much, but I peed all day yesterday and several times last night; thought there would be some water loss at least! My partner dropped 3 pounds. Hmph!

After my bowl of soup for breakfast, I ate an ounce of turkey jerky. After my bowl of soup for lunch & baby carrots, I ate 2 ounces of turkey jerky. Let me tell you, I feel so much better today than I did yesterday!

I went to the 4:30 Zumba class yesterday, and my foot started to hurt badly. I was too hot because some idiot had turned off all the fans in the group x room individually, so I could only get to one to turn it on.

I left after a half an hour, and the pain in my foot referred all the way up to my hip; apparently I had irritated a nerve instead of the tear in the bottom of my foot. Overheating is not good for people with MS; interferes with the proper communication of nerve signals. It was hard to sleep last night; I finally resorted to extra medication for nerve pain. Slept well, woke up pretty good.

I kicked butt in 9:30 am Zumba today, woo hoo! After class the instructor came up to me & told me I did great, that she liked my outfit, & asked my name (since she's seen me several times in class). It's cool to get to know the instructors; I actually have one as a Facebook friend now.

Speaking of Facebook, what do you do when extended family members post things that are totally at odds with ones political and social views? I love them, but we have opposite views on several subjects. Does that stuff show up to all my friends that are more on the same page as me? Random thoughts, excuse the digression.

I ran a bunch of errands, shopped (including a new Zumba top, lol), renewed my library card, checked out a book as well as a Kindle book when I got home. I'm resting before I get up and make a new pot of cabbage soup; with two people it goes fairly quickly. My partner didn't care for my version with the organic low-sodium chicken broth, so today I'll be using low-sodium V-8, chili powder, and water (as well as the assorted veggies & cabbage, of course). I put some hot Volcano seasoning in my lunch portion of the original soup and it was pretty awesome.

I'm eating a veggie tray from Trader Joe's; 14 oz. of jicama, tomatoes, carrots, and snap peas. Satisfies my need to munch, and not many calories. I picked up a few things at Whole Foods & discovered they have a new kind of roasted chickpeas that intrigued me; I bought a package & hid it in the pantry for after this week is over. :o)

I'm procrastinating on the soup making; it feels good to sit here with my laptop, feet up on the hassock, Pop Latino Music Choice playing on the TV. It's kind of cool that I can sing along to many of the Zumba songs (even if it's Spanish & I don't know what I'm saying).

I was at my apartment today and one of my neighbors complimented me on how good I look, so healthy & well put together. :oD So, it was a guy I really don't care for, but it was still nice to get a compliment. Oh, the other day a woman at Zumba complimented me on my appearance, with a very much bedroom-look in her eyes! Also not someone that would ring my chimes, but like I said, it's nice to get a compliment.

Whoa, rambling to put off getting up & chopping tons of veggies, and I haven't even read anyone's journal yet. Better get up & get everything simmering, I can always come back to the computer.
