BuffyBear's Journal, 20 April 2013

Well the stress at work finally drove me off the deep end. Yesterday I got Chinese food at lunch and ate the whole thing - including the fried egg roll and the white rice.

And if that wasn't bad enough, when I got home from work DH had baked cookies! And that finished off my day.

Am trying to gradually ease myself back into sanity today.

I've done that before. Then was really surprised when it seems to help to get out of control for that one day. Your resolve will be stronger to stick with your diet and you won't give up. You'll pull it together again. We're rooting for you. That's what is so great about these plans. There is always a new day in which to start it over again and again and again.

Ouch! Fried egg roll --- Not that??? Hey we all do it so don't be too hard on yourself. The cookies would have thrown me as well. Chinese I have been good about when there. Usually go for steamed broccoli and shrimp. You'll be fine. Just get back on track today and all will be good. -J

wonder what the definition of sanity is... Bummer, but I bet that egg roll was good. I crave them at times. I lost it for a few days too, so I'm joining the crowd, getting back on board today! Hope your weekend goes well.

The Chinese food, in and of itself, probably won't do a whole lot of damage. You'll bounce back from that. I doubt I could have resisted those fresh-baked cookies, though! For me, it would be about what all that would lead me to. Stress at work can invade our off-time, too, if we let it. A few years back, I went through a really bad period of time like that and I don't think I would have been able to do ANY WOE justice, other than eating whatever I wanted, whenever I could, and wherever I could find it - and that's pretty much what I did, unfortunately. No real insight to pass along here, just sympathy. Catch up on your rest and enjoy this work-free, weekend time. :)

Deadcenter - And of course I felt like crap after. Boss keeps promising to hire help so one of these days I can work 8 hours like a normal person.

Lizzy - I didn't mean to mislead you. I never really claimed to be sane to begin with. And yes, that egg roll was delicious.

Sandy - Only 2 pounds of damage so I really do appreciate the sympathy. I did need a break from the stress - but next time I'll go shoe shopping instead - LOL.
