Woke up feeling light as a butterfly today! Ok, maybe not that light, but lighter! LOL!

My daughter, SIL and grandkidlings headed north on a weekend trip to Mt Shasta for job prospect and to do a little sight-seeing. They visited the Sundial Bridge (glass bottom) and had a terrific time. 2 weeks ago, my SIL was discharged from the military and this was the location of his first job interview, and, he was offered the job as a fleet heavy equipment mechanic. I will once again have the entire home to myself, ohhh... and of course with my loving Ogre (DH). My Ogre is having a hard time with all of this as he LOVES the grandkidlings very much and is very attached. Now, he is threatening to take a job that is being offered to him back in the San Fran Bay area. We will see, life is really good for all of us right now. Thank you God...

Loving it, Cheryl. Rick is a hoot, to be sure. You'll have to spice it up for him this weekend, so he remembers what it's like to have the house all to yourselves. So glad you're son in law is finally home and home safe. Thank God! This is what I want for all our kids. They need to be home.

I understand missing the grandkids but it's also nice to have the house as an empty nest so you can enjoy yourselves. Glad you are feeling lighter!

Buffy, We love and enjoy our family, but we will be glad to have our own 'Nest' to ourselves once again. In regards to moving... no, we don't plan on doing so! LOL! My Ogre's shop yard that he reports to is just around the corner. We bought our home almost 5 yrs ago as an investment to get us to a little lake town near Yosemite, CA. (I did move 13 times as a youngster, and 13 times while married to a state park ranger to the most awesome CA recreational/parks at the beaches, lakes and mountain areas, ending up in the low desert of San Diego County for 15 yrs.)

Becky, Thanks! We have all adjusted and readjusted over the last 10+ yrs while my SIL was continually deployed oversees (4 times). I am so glad that he is finally out of the military so that they can have a 'Real' family unit again and I can devote more of my time to myself and my Ogre!

Heather, I almost get the feeling that you can really see the 'Real' him! LOL! OK.... If we have the house to ourselves this weekend, I will add some spice of life to our relationship! :) And yes, I agree with you, all of the kids do need to be out of the military and safe at home with their family and friends. I'm praying they all come home soon...

I hope they enjoyed the Sundial Bridge! That is a neat area. Did they get to tour Turtle Bay? Yay for good days!!!

skwhite, yes, they did enjoy the Sundial Bridge. But my 14 yr old granddaughter's cell phone decided it wanted to go swimming and took a dive into the river. LOL! They briefly visited Turtle Bay. They will be going back up to the area soon!
